Jinhao X750 Fountain Pen - Frosted Black, Medium is rated 4.2955 out of 5 by 88.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not a bad pen! Don't be offput by the "Made In China" label; this is a solid pen, and a smooth writer. Got mine (elsewhere), in a broad nib, and it wrote a really nice, smooth, wet line. They're heavy pens, being all metal, and the finish is just beautiful (mine is "sparkling sands"). I dropped mine, and of course, it landed tines-first. I'm now using a Goulet 1.1mm gold/silver italic nib, and a decent pen just got a whole lot better! Occasionally a hard starter, but I believe that's a nib/feed match issue that could be easily cured with either heating the feed and seating the nib, or with judicious use of abrasive mylar sheets. Makes a great daily carry pen!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Spotty performance The feel of the pen is great. The look is fantastic - not too shiny/showy. The problem is that the ink does not flow when writing. All I can typically see is the beginning part of a word where I place the pen on paper and then the very end when I lift the nib off the paper. I've tried emptying/filling the reservoir several times to ensure proper flow, but I am not able to use this pen at all. If I apply harder-than-normal pressure the flow is better, but that's not a comfortable way to write. I am using it with Noodler's, Warden's Ink, Bad Blue Heron. I'm quite dissatisfied with the pen, but since the price was so low I'm just going to hold onto it for now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bought it for my son At the price and the good reviews I wanted him to have a nice "starter" pen that wouldn't break my heart if he lost or dropped it or bent the nib. Very nice writer with some heft. He is thrilled at his real fountain pen. Next stop TWSBI 580 and then who knows where. 4 stars because the converter is subpar. But at this price point that is a quibble. Charge a little more and upgrade the converter and this is an unbeatable pen at this price point. I just swapped the converter and voila 5 star pen for 2 star price. In short, a disposable price for a keeper pen. Good for students and those that are hard on pens. No heartache if lost or broken.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW! Awesome pen!! I kid you not, this pen is the smoothest writer I own!! I bought this pen with a Goulet nib in case I had trouble with the stock nib (as I heard quality control can be iffy with the stock nibs) but the nib is butter smooth and can handle any paper I throw at it. Nice, wet writer, too. It also looks like a pen that costs 5 times what I paid for it ($10). Great balance, solid construction. Just fantastic. I did buy a standard international converter to go with it, so I can't comment on the converter that came with the pen. However, it looks like an improvement over other photos I have seen! Perhaps Jinhao has upgraded the stock converter?! Very, very happy with this pen!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Value Pen Bottom line: This is a $55 pen for ten bucks. Very nice appearance, excellent weight and balance in the hand, fitment is spot-on. I was surprised by the quality and smooth action of the nib. While it does take two hands to uncap, so do all the screw-cap pens I own. Posts snugly. The only demerit is the cartridge, which didn't feel tight and well-sealed to me. So I replaced it right off with a $5 universal cartridge converter, which I recommend. Which makes it a $55 pen for fifteen bucks, still an excellent value. Also, the matte black - more of a very deep charcoal - is a beautifully formal look. Conservative and businesslike, but elegant too. If only this pen came in a similarly elegant blue, green, red, or amber!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice feel I'd say 3.5 star to 4 star. The price is excellent and the feel of the pen is great. The heavy weight makes it feel solid and I like how it sits in my hand. My only complaint is the nib doesn't seem to deliver. It writes wet with noodler's ink and it rail roads if I write too fast. I doesn't feel like the ink flows well through this nib. I am going to replace it with a aftermarket #6 nib and see if it makes it more enjoyable. ooooUpdateoooo Got a italic #6 Goulet Nib and this pen has become a lot more enjoyable to write. I am having a lot more fun with it now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A surprisingly great pen I had mixed feelings about Jinhao after some frustration with an X450 that I bought awhile back, but I decided to give this one a try and I've been pleasantly surprised by the feel and performance of this pen. The lousy converter was the source of several of my frustrations with my first pen, so I don't use it. I've been using it with Diamine cartridges and it writes like a dream. The frosted finish feels great to hold and looks pretty classy. It lays down a line that's a bit heavier than I usually like, but it writes very smoothly and is well balanced weight-wise. For the price point, I would say this pen is a great deal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than I expected I ordered this pen on a whim. It says the nib is 18k gold plated but it is silver so i am confused. Smooth when it writes but has some starting problems. I love the weight of the pen and the feel of the metal and the texture of the matte finish. I did put a tiny scratch on the barrel, so now there is a silvery mark in the black, but I use it to know what angle the nib is so im not surprised when i uncap the pen. The cap i would change. Extremely tight fit when snapped on, and the clip is too tight to use on backpack pen slots. I love writing without it posted, but the cap does post well and makes it slightly back heavy
