Rhodia Classic Wirebound Notebook - Black, Lined (8.86 x 11.69) is rated 4.4783 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Decent notebook, but weakness of wire bin sing makes hard to use I received this note book as a gift in the beginning of the year, and one in orange. I was initialy impressed with the paper quality, but over time it has proven to not be able to withstand daily school use. I carry this in a backpack every day and over just 2 months the back cover has come off completely. I can put it back on but it is difficult and comes off immediately. On my other notebook the covers stay on but the bottom of the pages always start to rip off along the perforations and sometimes causes pages to fall out just from natural opening. Would not buy again or recommend to a friend. You would think a 9 dollar notebook could withstand more than 2 months of daily school use but apparently not.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but not Great As expected, the paper is certainly better than what you will find in your average notebook, but it doesn't play well with certain inks. Using a Lamy Al-Star fountain w/fine nib and J. Herbin Bleu Pervenche ink, I filled a page with writing. After allowing the ink to dry for 45 minutes, it still smeared horribly when I tested it. On the other hand, Perle Noire ink dried fine and experienced none of the issues that affected Bleu Pervenche. There is also a discernible shortfall in the tactile feedback when compared to the 90g paper found in Clairefontaine notebooks. The 90g paper feels smoother underneath the pen and makes 80g paper feel somewhat cheap. I will be sticking with Clairefontaine notebooks in the future. I do love the purple lines, though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Notebook - Just Ordered My 2nd One I've always been a Rhodia fan, and this notebook does not disappoint when it comes to paper quality. I use a variety of inks and have never had issues with feathering/bleed-through (although drying time should be considered, sometimes I need to wait for something written in wet ink or with a M nib to dry before I turn the page). This is my go-to work notebook and I like the margin section and heading section. I primarily use a Bullet Journal style system and this format allows for that while still giving plenty of space for extended notes. Only complaint is that the perforations seems a little weak - If you do a lot of page turning and reviewing of notes, be prepared for some of them to tear slightly if you're not careful. I use a little scotch tape to re-secure them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Uni Notebook I find the 90 gsm Clairfontaine too slick. I like the comforting feedback from these smooth 80 gsm pages, plus the fact that my ink seems to dry a little quicker. Side binding lets me use both sides of pages for class notes. Excellent quality. Love the headings section at the top of the page. Micro-perforation, however, really makes this the ultimate student notebook. Tears cleanly every time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Bit Different For This Beginner After getting into fountain pens it was time to try out some high quality paper. So I went with Rhodia. On the plus side is that the paper is more dense so you don't get bleed through and less transparent. Significant improvement over standard paper. On the down side, for me anyway, is the feel of the paper. The pages feel like they are coated with something they are so smooth resulting in a different feedback - like you are writing on plastic. I assume most like this as Rhodia appears to be popular. I think I'll be looking for a paper that has the density but a more standard feel. Having said all of the above, I will add that I recently picked up a very wet pen that writes beautifully on the Rhodia. On regular paper in bleeds and feathers terribly but on the Rhodia it is an excellent pen.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too much bleed through I like that they provide about twice as many pages as Clairfontaine does on their wire bound notebook. What I don't like is that there is bleed through with some inks, like Noodler's Apache Sunset, J. Herbin Stormy Grey or Bleu Prevenche, and PR American Blue, using a Kaweco broad or Lamy italic 1.5 or broad, Lamy 2000 Medium, or Goulet broad on a Noodler's Ahab. For that reason I am going back to Clairfontaine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh.. The paper in these notebooks are good enough, similar (if not identical?) to the paper in Rhodia's standard line of notebooks. I am not a fan of the margins in these notebooks though, I wish they were like the margins in the classic line with the standard, simple red line down the left side of the page.. Rhodia needs to release a side wirebound with the margin style of their top staple-bound notebooks. That was more what I was looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect notebook. Not a ton to say here, it is a Rhodia notebook, Their paper is perfect for all of the pens I have used from very wet, to fine and dry. They all write beautifully on this paper. I chose this notebook because I was looking for something similar to my notebooks from my school days, and it fit the bill. If you prefer lines to dots, and want a book that opens to the side instead of on top, This is what you want.
