Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trouble-free, reliable, water resistant, versatile This is my standard ink. I've been using since I started writing exclusively with FPs well over a year ago and it has been a good solid everyday ink. I keep a bottle at home and one at work. I like that it is water resistant in case I spill something on it. I also like that I was able to get it out of a nearly new white dress shirt, unlike the bulletproof inks.?? There is nothing fancy about the color. It doesn't reach up and grab you by the eyeballs, it doesn't change colors depending on the light source. It IS professional looking and well suited for both business and personal correspondence. It's what an ink should be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful permanent blue This is a fantastic workhorse blue. In comparison to Noodler's Eel Blue (which was my previous favorite blue), this Pilot ink dries MUCH faster, smears significantly less (due to drying faster), and is just as water resistant as the Noodler's ink. It is also relatively well behaved with minimal show-through and ghosting on cheap composition paper. On Rhodia, it's fantastic (as are most inks). This is my favorite blue out of Noodler's Eel Blue, J.Herbin 1670 bleu, Platinum blue, Waterman Serenity Blue, and lastly Salix. (Although Salix is the best behaved on any paper - it simply doesn't feather). Highly recommended! And it's very affordable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Blue, a Workhorse Ink This ink is great. Middle saturated blue with good shading and excellent lubrication. Excellent bottle and packaging. There's an ink reservoir in the bottle that lets you immerse the nib and section when filling . And the smell - it smells exactly as you think an ink should smell :-) I wish Goulet stocked the taller 70ml bottle that is Pilot branded at lower cost that can be found in Asia from time to time. Same ink, similar bottle with reservoir. I also wish Pilot/Namiki made this ink widely available. It is rather hard to find.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waterproof Blue! I love this ink. It is waterproof. It is a very nice shade of standard blue ink suitable for business, being not purple based like many blues. It looks like what the average person would expect blue ink to look like. It comes in a great bottle that is easy to fill from and is very attractive in shape. Flow, dry time, feathering, shading, etc. are all good to excellent. Give this ink a shot. It is good to have a standard blue in your collection of inks, especially one that is waterproof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A staple for students. This ink stinks. I mean, it literally stinks. Not in a good way, or even a weird way. You could probably die from smelling this ink too much. However! What a great ink. The only real difference I can find between this ink and the Iroshizuku line is the smell. The flow characteristics are amazing. The pickiest of pens will work great with this ink. Uncapped pens can go a long time without drying out. I even found this ink to feather much less than the black ink cartridges. The colour isn't bad, but it won't wow you. I bought this ink at the same time as Kon-Peki, and this ink is definitely a lot more purple. Completely water-resistant. Completely. Woot Woot. This is really something you should consider. The flow characteristics of Iroshizuku at a cheaper price; a decent blue for students and workers. But please, do not smell this ink.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just not working for me... I picked up a bottle of Namiki Blue on its reputation as as a solid workhorse ink. I don't doubt others' experiences with it, but so far I've had feathering and bleedthrough issues with every pen/paper combination I've tried, including a Pilot EF needle. Granted, I don't use Rhodia paper, but for an ink with its reputation, I expected more. Also, it dries *very* pale; much paler than Lamy Blue, despite what the swabs indicate. It just goes to show that you can never assume that an ink will perform well in your pen just because it does in someone else's.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Pale, Not all that waterproof. I have used this ink in both bottle and cartridge formats, and I find it to be a very pale, unattractive color. The best description I can provide is to say it looks like a watered down blue ink. The photo for this review shows it compared to Noodlers Blue (love this color) and the photo doesn't show the full extent of the weakness of this blue. The primary reason I wanted to use this ink is for it's waterproof qualities - which it definitely does have, however unlike other highly water proof inks (think Noodlers Black) a portion does wash off and a portion remains. As another point of reference, it is slightly more waterproof than Noodlers Liberty's Elysium. Pilot's Blue-Black is more waterproof and does not look watered down. I had expected better appearance from Pilot's blue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bomb Proof Ink. Forget bullet proof, this ink is AMAZING, great colour, great flow, great everything and it's the most permanent blue I've ever seen.... I can only think of another great blue ink, but that one causes ppl issues, this one however is amazing!
