Rated 3 out of 5 by from More pastel than swab shows I loaded this into a wet writing Pelikan M400, and thought I had forgotten to dry it. After several pages, it was still the light/faded purple it started as. This ink does look like a color of hydrangea, right down to the softness. The color does not match the swab, and does not match any of the other swabs/samples I've seen elswhere. If you want a pastel purple-shifted blue should work for you. If you want something with more intensity, suggest Asa-Gao.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Iroshizuku Ink This is an exceptional blue which is more reminiscent of the Mediterranean than anything. I've purchased three different shades of Iroshizuku from BrIan and Rachel Goulet and though this stuff is pretty expensive, this is some of the best ink I've ever used. Incidentally, the Goulet's offer great service. My package came in three days and it was extremely well wrapped to protect it during shipping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gift for myself I originally ordered a sample of this lovely color and like it so much I decided to bite the bullet and order a bottle. Even though it is on the pricy side it has such a wonderful feel when writing with this ink and I absolutely love the color. Kudos to the Goulet Pen people as their customer service is excellent and friendly. I love the fact they use different pens and ink's when writing notes on the invoices that give us an opportunity to see different pen's, nib's and inks that we don't own. Keep up the good work. The only time I order from elsewhere is when you don't have what I am looking for, as example, the Sailor 1911 pen purchased as a gift for my husband as a graduation gift when he earned his Masters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ajisai ink I sampled several of the Iroshizuku blues, and I like this one best. It's fast-drying and I keep it in a stubbed Levenger True Writer. One surprise--it's a stand-out color for marking up manuscripts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely Purple/Blue I purchased a sample of this lovely ink. I currently have it in my new TWSBI 580 EF, it writes very smooth, so far I have only used this ink in my TWSBI, I want to see how other inks work with this pen, which I love, love, love. I do not think the color is too light, on the Rhodia ivory paper it is a lovely purple shade, on white it looks slightly bluer but still definitely purple. I may choose this as my blue(purple) ink. Pricey but it may be worth the cost.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love letter/mimeograph blue Several years ago, I found some old letters that my grandparents had written to each other when The War (WWII) required my grandfather to travel far from home on business. This ink is the same color of ink as I saw on those faded old love letters. Maybe for that reason, Aji-sai strikes me a refined, elegant, timeless ink color. Be warned, though that this is not a saturated ink. Instead, it's a soft purplish blue, like the hydrangea flowers my grandmother used to grow. That makes it an ideal ink for love letters, and for anything you want to write that speaks of elegance, poise, good manners or lingering, beloved memories. My mother and I recently started putting old photos in scrapbooks, and this ink not only looks terrific on the cream-colored pages, but also adds the right vintage touch to caption photos in our collection that are 120 years old or more. One of the amusing things about Aji-sai is that it's almost the same color as the old mimeograph ink from when I was in school. It's so close that when I had to walk away mid-letter while using Asi-sai, I came back to see the ink on the page and automatically lifted the paper to my nose to get a whiff of mimeograph smell, only to be sadly disappointed. I guess I just gave my age away with that one, but oh well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So many inks, so little room... All the Iroshizuku inks are excellent - vibrant and free-flowing - but the range of blues is especially good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful!! Very similar to Bleu Myosotis but with a touch more blue. Could be a fave color for me.
