Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rohrer & Klingner ?ber alles I have a bottle of both the Alt-Goldgr?n and a bottle of Cassia. These inks are great, oder wunderbar!!! They both provide a lot of shade variations in flex pens as well as regular pens. I have the Cassia in a Pilot Prera with an Italic nib and I also have it in a Noodler's Ahab. In the Ahab the color varies from almost black in wettest applications to a vibrant violet in drier writing. The Prera (which writes a lot drier) still leaves varying shades of the vibrant violet. I love this ink. The bottles are also a lot easier to store and deal with than some of the fancier bottles out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purple as You Might Think of It A solid pretty much middle of the road purple that is close to the purple we were taught to identify as the color. First the properties: Smooth flowing and minimal feathering even on decent photocopy paper; barely imperceptible feathering on really high end photocopy paper; and, none in my Rhodia Wednotebook. Middle of the road wetness. Very friendly to my Conway Stewart fine italic nib. The aesthetics: "Cassia" sits almost squarely between red and blue, tending toward red. Not a color I'd use at a office as it's a bit too bright and therefore, I think, unprofessional. Very solid purple in my ink palette.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful deep purple color Using a sample of this in my fine Pilot Metropolitan, and absolutely love it. The color is deep enough to stand bold on the paper, but not too dark as to overwhelm it, or bleed through. I have to disagree with those that say it is too light for a professional setting, I think it blends in very nicely among blacks and blues of the professional world. The ink is very smooth and keeps up nicely with my quick writing. I would guess if you write slower/more meticulous you might find more issues bleeding and staying too wet. As I write though, it dries fast and looks great in my Leuchttrums.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the color! I was looking for a purple with some "life" to it. I have found with R&K Cassia. It is a very nice shade of purple, seeming somewhat lighter than the swab shown here. It shades nicely with a stub nib, but not at all with a fine point. The dry time is fast, and the water resistance is moderate (after washing, the ink is still readable). The ink color is pleasant and not garish like some of the other purples, and flows very nicely from the pens that I have tried it with (Lamy, Faber Castell Loom). If you are looking for a nice, solid purple, give this one a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from R and K Cassia This is the perfect purple ink for me. It has some shading even in a pilot preppy and I'm sure it will give even better shading with a flexible nib. It is a true purple with not too much of either blue or red IMO. It didn't feather or bleed on either my good Clairefontaine paper or on a cheap Wallmart notebook. The pen hated the cheap paper but the ink didn't. I will continue to use this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite ink ever! It was love at first sight when I tried a sample of this ink. I use it primarily in a Noodler's Konrad, which I don't even try to flex. I'm no skilled ink reviewer, but I can say that I have no problem with flow. It is neither too dry nor too wet in this pen. It dries quickly enough that I have never had any problem with ink smearing or transferring to the opposite page. It is a wonderful ink to right with. But the very best thing about it is the color! Using the Konrad as basically a fine nib, I get a beautiful purple, a true purple, but with a dark enough shade that I would use it anywhere. Maybe it's a little too purple for office use, but this is my preferred color for journaling and correspondence. I will always have a pen inked up with this color.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clear purple--a bit wet A gorgeous, medium purple that shades beautifully. A bit of a wetter ink that is prone to feathering when laid down with my Ahab Flex or on cheaper paper. For the most part it's pretty well behaved and a great hue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A vibrant purple R&K inks have some of the best properties, in my opinion. Nice flow, vibrant color. They also dry quickly and rarely feather. The Cassia is no exception. A great purple for work and home.
