Beautiful Blue

Deep, intense blue, quick drying. Definitely the best blue ink I own.

Gorgeous ink

One of my favourite inks. The colour has a sort of 'otherworldly' quality to it.

A happy buyer

First off, I'm very impressed by customer service. They refunded shipping charge for delayed delivery due to holiday season although it was not their fault. Now I'm happy to use it as it took a long time to find a blue color what I like about.

Wonderful blue, but a little finicky

Diamine's Sapphire Blue is a fine ink, but I'll put my issues with it first. I like Japanese fines, and this ink just refused to play nice with the fine nib on my Pilot Metropolitan - hard-starts, skipping, just awful performance out of what has otherwise been a stellar nib. Maybe this isn't the driest ink, but I'd advise against it for very fine nibs (unless your pen happens to run wet). When I got around to putting this in a pen with a broader, wetter nib, I was impressed with the result. I like how it changes from purplish to blue on the page. It dries fairly quickly, offers a small but lovely bit of shading on nicer papers, and even resists water decently well. It's a blue that definitely leans toward purple (living up to its namesake) and not a true blue, but if that's your jam, this one's well worth checking out.

Nice shade of blue

Nice traditional shade of blue. Quick dry time and not to wet. Works very good in a TWSBI GO!

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.
