Beautiful Green!

This is a wonderful green that will lead to a full bottle. I love how it's not to bright but it's just bright enough to catch your eye and when it shades it goes from a light green to a dark green which looks so good.

This is the first green ink that's I've found that really works for me! I'll have to say that I'm in love with it! Already have a full bottle in my shopping cart! Color is great, smooth writing experience. Just Awesome!

Very pretty ink

I bought this ink sample to have pretty spring color and it is glorious. I would call this a happy color. I have it in my Pilot Prera with medium italic nib and enjoy writing with it very much.

Really Fun Bright Color

I went back and forth if I wanted such a bright green but I'm so happy I did. The color is amazing and fun. I tried it in my Pilot Metro- Retro Green (wonderful color match) with a fine nib on cheap printer paper as well as cheap notebook paper. It actually holds up really well to both cheap papers. There is a little bit of feathering which is to be expected but shockingly not nearly as much as some other inks I've tried. I was also testing out the dry time and while no inks really sit on absorbent paper, I'd say this dried a bit quicker than average. Now this probably isn't the most professional color but if you're writing your own notes on cheap paper, its hard to find something that looks and writes this great.

I've finally found my go-to green!

I've tried a couple of different greens so far in my search for one that I truly love, and I'm sure I've found it in the form of Apple Glory. It seems a lot of people use this as an ink for highlighting, but I use it in journalling and can read it without any problem. It's a wonderfully bright, cheerful, and happy color, perfect for spring. The hue is punchy, but somehow a bit soft at the same time. Love it!**It dries VERY fast in my fine Platinum Preppy--completely dry with no smears in three seconds flat. I believe it's one of the fastest-drying inks I've ever tried. I'm sure many people will appreciate that!

FAQ about Ink Samples

How do I fill my fountain pen from an ink sample vial? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It depends on the fountain pen's filling mechanism.

Check out our blog post on How to Fill a Fountain Pen from an Ink Sample Vial.

How much writing can I do with 2ml of ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It really depends on how big or small you write, and the nib size you’re using. We find that usually you can get 2 good fills for a typical converter with our Ink samples, or one good fill with a piston-filling pen. How much writing depends on you more than anything else, so we recommend experimenting with different nib sizes to find what works best for you.

What is shading, sheening, or shimmering ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Shading - A common (and often desired) result of a fountain pen ink pooling in certain parts of a letter when writing, so that the color and saturation of the ink appears different within a single letter or word. This characteristic cannot be achieved with ballpoint or rollerball pens and is a very appealing aspect of fountain pen use for those particularly drawn to all the pretty ink colors.

Sheen - Characteristic of a fountain pen ink where when ink pools another color can be seen on top of the ink, especially when looked at in different light angles using certain paper types. There is no way to guarantee an ink will sheen, but using a larger nib on a pen will help obtain sheening results in your writing.

Shimmering - Fountain pen ink that has small particles of glitter mixed in.

Is shimmering ink safe to use in fountain pens? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Yes! Shimmering ink is a great way to add some flare to your writing. We have found that a larger nib will showcase more shimmering particles while writing, but you can use any nib size and shimmering ink. All the ink we sell is safe for use in fountain pens.

You can learn more in our blog: How to Write with Shimmering Ink.
