Diamine Regency Blue (40ml Bottled Ink) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Darkest Purple - heavy on blue spectrum Purchased a sample, and now back for a full bottle. Despite the name, this ink is not trying to be a blue. The 'regency' in the name likely refers to the purple of this ink. As a purple (being a blend of red and blue) there is barely any red to the spectrum; being chiefly on the Dark blue side. One could image this being a blue-eccentric purple mixed with black. No shading has yet been observed with this ink (as with many other Diamine inks) and I have not yet seen the iridescent sheen that some of their blues have : shame This shall be a main-stay in my black Monteverde, as this is a Very dark ink with a subtle blue-heavy purple to it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dark Blue or Blue-Black? This ink is a very dark blue that could pass for a blue-black on the page until you compare it with something like the Diamine 1864 Blue-Black. Then it seems that the blue component is more visible, whereas the 1864 ink definitely has a more classic blue-black tone, with the black predominating. I was hoping for some "regalness" and some deep blue luster from this ink, but I don't get that, at least in the vintage Conway-Stewart that I have it in. I'm keeping a pen inked with the Regency Blue, but when I want a "bluer" dark blue ink I go for the Private Reserve Midnight Blues or the somewhat darker, more blue-blackish but still blue P.R. Black Magic Blue. Still, a very mature-looking and satisfying ink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A favorite. This ink is wonderful. Dark enough to be nearly black at first glance, but with a rich blue and purple hue upon closer inspection. Its richness, hue, and fast drying time qualify it as a daily carry for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning Blue This is one of the most beautiful blue inks I've come across in some time, and I love just about any shade of blue. Deep in tone, saturated, it's suitable for work-related composition, but it also feels really luxurious and more exciting than a standard blue. Diamine makes a great ink, in general, and this shade is incredibly rich.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Blue for my Wish List ! I ordered 8 of the Diamie ink bottles (empty) to arrange on a Lazy Susan. I planned to transfer transfer some of my favorite inks in the bottles and give it to a friend.. Luckily, 6 of the 8 bottles were Regency Blue. I ended up with a nice 5 ml sample of this ink and love it. I definitely noticed the red sheen with a swab, less so writing with a fine or medium nib. I am eager to try it with an italic nib, hoping it will show the colors and shading more. The color is beautiful, a deep, saturated blue with a hint of purple. While I say that, I must also agree with those who find it to be a Blue-Black. In a fine and medium nib the color/saturation gives it a serious blue-black look that really stands out. It goes on smooth and dries quickly. I tested it on a number of papers and while the color shifts slightly, it gives a strong line on the page. It performed well on all of them, only feathering on the cheapest and recycled papers. So, I "accidentally" fell into a sample of Regency Blue and will add it to my wish list. In the meantime, I look forward to reading others reviews. Frankly, the color is so lovely, I'm not sure even bad reviews would prevent me from buying a bottle. :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Color I really Like this ink, It is just dark enough that with an EF nib I can use it at work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous Ink! I just love this ink. The color is a dark, very saturated (I mean Noodler's type saturation) but still clearly blue versus blue-black. To me it has a nice sheen with a slight reddish tone with a Goulet 1.1mm nib. I tried to immediately order a bottle but most US sites were already sold out, I liked it so much I ended up ordering from overseas.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Blue. Very Dark I like this ink just fine. It writes beautifully. The ink is very dark and that is my only draw back. Even out of a flex nib pen it looks very dark. The packaging is amazing and I love the bottle when paired with several other Diamine anniversary bottles. Blue velvet is by far my favorite so far.
