Diamine Imperial Purple (80ml Bottled Ink) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very purple This ink is very purple. No real undertones that I could notice in shading. It is a very nice saturated purple; I wasn't purple-blinded :) Used in Lamy Al Star 1.5mm steel nib, mainly, but with a few others, on HP Premium Laser Paper. It performed decently, no feathering and full, rich color. Previously I had been using Noodler's Blue-Black, so that's my benchmark. This ink feels thicker as it goes on the paper. I had to be very cap conscious, otherwise I would have to run the nib over a scratch peice of paper to restore the ink flow. Not my go-to ink, but it was a nice addition to my collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth purple for purple lovers A beautiful and free-flowing purple with a some shading. Fairly fast drying. To me, this color falls perfectly between red and blue. It doesn't lean towards red and it will never be confused with blue; it's the perfect shade if you're looking for a pure purple. Has all the usual excellent qualities of a Diamine ink: little feathering, smooth flow, reasonable dry time. Great stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good flow, great colour. Being a Scouser it is wonderful to see Diamine inks all over the world. This purple is intense, has good shading and is an ink my fountain pens love. It works beautifully with everything from a needlepoint to a double broad italic, is great with steel nib dip pens and glass pens. it is a staple of my ink collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful purple Initial disclaimer: I am not very fond of purple in general. Having said that, I love this color. I purchased it so that I would have a purple in my ink collection. I loaded it, wrote with it and fell in love. I find it to be a grayish purple, not a brilliant painful purple. :-) Remember, I'm not a purple fan (except for this one).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deep purple This is a dark but rich purple. Under some light, it looks like Majestic Purple, but under some light, MP looks more reddish while IP remains true purple. Imperial Purple coats the inside of the sample vial instead of rolling off as most inks do. Therefore, it might stain although the sample didn't stain the converter when I used it the one time. I like Diamine inks in general, and I like this color. I'll probably buy a bottle to use with my purple pen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Service I received fantastic service from Goulet every time I use them. Thank goodness there is a company that sells tester/trial ink by the vial. What a fantastic way to 'try before you buy'. Package was packed ...as the notice says...with a ridiculous amount of care by Randall Watford. Thank you Randal. Your packing beats Amazon by a country mile. Good thing too, you sent this to me in Bangkok, Thailand (Via APO). Delivered in just about a week after ordering. Not bad :-) Will certainly continue to use Goulet for all ink needs..and pen needs too --if-- the pens are competitively priced ;-) All the best. M

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect everyday purple This is a gorgeous slightly blue leaning highly saturated purple with good flow and good behavior; no feathering or bleed on good paper. Very legible on the page. I use some wild purples from time to time (PR Plum, Yama budo) but Dia Imperial Purple has become an everyday staple ink for journaling, notes and correspondence. If you seek a dependable, interesting, rich purple that leans a little towards the blue side of purple, this is a good choice.
