Bringing heritage, expertise, creativity and contemporary design to create fine writing instruments for everyday writing. The Tom Hessin Charles collection is an enviable design that will doubtlessly be the eye-candy of every office meeting, and will flawlessly carry you through to any album-worthy signature occasion. The Charles collection is the culmination of five generations in the pen industry; each generation represented by a diamond design elegantly depicted in the clip detail. With expertise dating back to 1870, the Charles fountain pen earns its moniker from the ‘Charles’ name that spans the family tree.

The Charle Thames Blue fountain pen is inspired by a summer’s day on the river Thames, reflecting glorious hues on the iconic architecture that line the capital’s great river. When turned in the hand, this pen enjoys changing light, creating intrigue wherever you go. Whether you’re working at Canary Wharf or heading to the slopes, the Charles Thames Blue is an enviable choice. Today the this pen is a beautiful collaboration of Modern Heritage. A fountain pen, carefully crafted using high-grade European resin with an elegant and modern finish. The name ‘Thames’ has been inspired from a heritage dating back to T.Hessin & Co.

Featuring a reliably smooth silver PVD JoWo nib x Tom Hessin, it also has a screw cap. The chrome clip features an engraved five diamond design detail, emblematic of the five generations that span the Tom Hessin legacy.

Each fountain pen is presented in a stylish Tom Hessin box, complete with pen card leaflet, ink cartridge and converter. Backed by a two-year mechanical warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.

For even more information about fountain pen cleaning, check out our Fountain Pen 101 video blog post.
