I really like the line width and variation. Getting it started can be a bit difficult but that is often the case with a new nib. Hopefully this will improve with use.

The 1.1 Stub nib was so round, so "user friendly" that it was basically just a slightly flat, scratchy Broad. I couldn't hardly get any line variation out of it. If you like stubs, unless you can grind it yourself you should get a different brand, as it's so inexpensive I wouldn't consider it cost effective to send in to a nibsmith. Fortunately it only took about 10 minutes (I used micromesh pads, flattened the tip and trimmed a little top and bottom) and I was able to get a much wider downstroke and a slightly thinner sidestroke for decent line variation. It's well made, just much too rounded for my taste out of the box.

Broad nibs are my favorite and Lamy does them exceptionally well.

Super reliable - I am yet to see a Lamy nib that hasn't performed perfectly out of the box (I've tried a medium, a fine, and a 1.1 mm stub). I have never experienced any hard start or other issues with a brand new Lamy - which cannot be said for any other pen I've had (Preppy / Junlai / TWSBI / Montblanc). Very happy with these!

I like fountain pens. Have since I was a pre teen. I'm, old now. But the resurgence in fountain pen popularity has been wonderful to see. Having said all that, I must confess that I don't know very much about fountain pens, aside from how to fill them and write with them. I like stub nibs and extra fines for writing and sketching. This is a Lamy nib that works well in a Lamy fountain pen and that's about all one can say about it. A nib expert may beg to differ.
