For all those who like it comfortable or are learning to write: the LAMY nexx simply lies comfortably in the hand all round and makes even long writing sessions entirely easy. The ergonomic grip is soft and nonslip and ensures relaxed hands over many pages. In addition, it supports an ideal hand position without constricting. The overall feel of the fountain pen is as light as the writing experience itself: the triangular body is made of aluminum and thus has a low weight, is robust and does not roll off the table thanks to its shape.

This 2026 special edition fountain pen has a light and exceptionally sturdy blue aluminum body, darker blue plastic cap and matching grip section, and a teal colored clip. comes with an interchangeable silver steel nib in size A (medium), as well as a blue LAMY ink cartridge so you can get started writing right away. If you'd like to use bottled fountain pen ink, you can also purchase a LAMY Z28 converter.

Note: To ensure quality performance, LAMY tests their pens as a final step in manufacturing. If you happen to see any residual blue ink, rest assured that this is normal.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill this LAMY fountain pen with ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

This fountain pen can fill with proprietary LAMY ink cartridges, or from a LAMY converter.

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses proprietary LAMY ink cartridges, which are available in a range of colors.

As for converters, LAMY does make two different converters - the red Z28, and the black Z27. All of their fountain pens (except the 2000) can accept the black Z27; typically this converter is included with the higher-end LAMY pens like the aion, cp1, scala, and studio. The red Z28 has additional knobs for a more secure installation that is compatible (and sold separately) on the AL-star, joy, and safari.

We've got a great video demonstrating both filling methods here:

My pen has some blue ink on it, was it used? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

If your LAMY fountain pen arrives with a touch of blue ink on the feed, rest assured, it's still brand new.

It all comes down to the LAMY factory testing process of each nib before it ships.

This video talks a little more about that, and demonstrates how to clean your new LAMY fountain pen:
