The Itoya Blade® ready-to-write fountain pen is designed for the current generation of writers who want something different. It’s just as easy to use and maintenance-free as a ballpoint pen, but has the pizzazz and wonderful ink flow of a traditional fountain pen.

The Blade is engineered with a precision fine point nib that is durable enough for everyday use, but refined to provide a consistent and smooth flow of ink as you write on your favorite paper. The sealed ink compartment design requires no messy refilling or ink cartridges; simply discard the pen like a traditional disposable ballpoint pen. Comes pre-filled with blue ink.

Too good to throw away!

I bought a couple of these. One for my brother in law who won't use fountain pens, because they "aren't as convenient as a disposable ballpoints" (now he has no excuse!) And one for me. I was stunned! I dont know if they are all this way, but mine is sort of a cursive italic with the downstokes ever so slightly thicker than the cross strokes. The inkflow is perfect for my preference, enough to show good shading, yet still dries quickly on nice paper, tested on regalia, rhodia, and tomoe river paper. And the nib is fine enough to work well on absorbent paper as well. No question, this pen is too nice to throw away once its empty. I will definitely try to refill it. I never tried a disposable fountain pen before, because the whole point for me was to have a tool I could use my whole life and pass down (or 20 in my case haha). However, I will utilize this bit of planned obsolescence for the sake of giving a proper writing experience to those who are hesitant to leave their disposable ballpoint comfort zone.

Wow! What a fabulous writer!!!

The Itoya blue pen is comfortable with which to write and looks more professional than other $4 pens. And the fine nib is excellent! I have had no hard starts or skips. And it is very smooth. It provides a very nice writing experience. GPC, does it come in more colors besides blue and black??? I'd love a purple ink Itoya! This is a terrific pen!
