Pelikan Edelstein Topaz (50ml Bottled Ink) is rated 4.68 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning blue Buy this ink. Shh... don't say ,"But it's too expensive." Just buy it. This ink is worth the price, and I'm not even considering the packaging. First off, this ink does NOT have the dry flow characteristics seen in other Pelikan inks. This wonderful blue ink behaves wonderfully. Have you ever come back to something you write a while back and thought "WOW"? This is one of those inks. The rest of my inks are fairly dark, so this one stands right out. It is such a true blue - both dazzling and usable for work and school. Trust me, your pens will be fighting for this ink. The bottle is such a great bonus. It is very heavy, so you don't need to worry about it tipping over. It looks simply great. Skip the sample - get the bottle!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Great Ink This ink almost got 5 stars from me. It's good. And I'm not talking about the color. I refuse to rate inks according to my subjective taste for their color. It's not water proof. But that's prefered by some. Its pen properties are good, but not outstanding. Its paper properties are very good. No feathering, little bleedthrough. It's durable enough in the face of time or light to not be much of a concern. On my 10-day accelerated fading test it scores an A, on a scale of AA, A, B, C. The color is a cyan-blue. Not quite as brilliant or green as the 'worst', but that is to my taste.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Edelstein Inks...Mandarin and Topaz I must agree with the first review posted on the Edelstein inks. The presentation is attractive. Both the packaging and the heavy glass bottle earn high marks. The branding is actually etched onto the bottle including the ink color, and really feels substantial. I found the Mandarin a bit light for my taste but the Topaz is beautiful. It does seem to offer a drier line that the J. Herbin does in my Faber Castell Intuition. Yet I do love the coloring of the ink. I would love to see Pelikan add to this line of colors and follow what Pilot has done with their Iroshizuku inks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ink, falls into lifetime Best of Ten I have been using fountain pens of all sorts for 40 years. I have spent a lot of money, on inks I would like. The reality for me was is that for every 15 bottles of ink, e.g., colors, saturations, flows, wet, dry, I bought, I used one. Regardless of their initial cost, the most expensive ones are the ones never used. Not so with this ink. The Topaz is all the video shows: a very high quality, beautiful ink who someone at Pelikan decided to invest in. They did a great job, from the packaging, the bottle, and most importantly providing me with an ink that I will use daily. It won't spend its life in a drawer. The bottle is large, and the ink is spectacular. I have it in a Lamy Safari, and a vintage Parker Duofold. My guess is that this is an ink that you will use every day. I recommend it without hesitation. I wasn't taken by the the other Edelstein inks, so I am picky, picky, picky about ink. I'll be back for more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best Edelstein Hands down, the best of the bunch. It's hard to compete against all those blues out there but the Topaz still stands out and even has better shading than the vaunted Iroshizuku Kon-peki!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ink I love this ink. A beautiful brilliant blue that behaves well on paper...really pops with expression when using a stub/italic nib. I noticed a few people have compared it to P. Iroshizuku Kon-peki, and it does resemble it somewhat, but is a shade darker. I have both and enjoy using them. Needs a bit more drying time than Kon-peki, but all other comparisons are equally good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy it!!! Don't ask why, just buy ;) As Reilly Irvine said in another review "Buy this ink. Shh... don't say ,"But it's too expensive." Just buy it"... Don't ask why, just click in "Add to Cart" and complete your purchase order!! Beautiful color, awesome bottle, nice shading and incredible flow... Really really love this color! If you love (as I do) Kon Peki, certainly you'll love Topaz... Not cheap as other bottles, it's true, but as my granpa was used to say: "If isn't cheap, certainly will perform lovely and will be good!" I bet you won't stop refilling your pen with this until you see this bottle empty! I bet on it, all in!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has grown on me I tried this ink in a fine nibbed Pelikan pen. At first I thought it was a bit on the light side, but as I've been using it, I've really grown to appreciate the subtle shading that is evident even with a fine nib. Somewhat pricey, but could easily be used as an everyday ink.
