Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for beginners I bought this ink for my boyfriend's sister who recently graduated from high school. She's known for writing and my boyfriend recently bought her a leather bound notebook, so I took the opportunity to buy an accompanying gift. She's never written with a fountain pen before and I think Noodler's is a great brand to get her started with it! As said in other reviews, this ink is fast drying and perfect for beginners first learning to use these types of pens. The color quality is just as it shows and worked great on notebook paper (she tested it out on a notepad before using it with her journal). I personally did not see a downside to the ink whatsoever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This Color! This is the first time I have tried a fast-drying ink (I have one broad nib pen that just gushes ink and I thought fast-drying ink would be a good choice). I love the color because this blue-black is more blue and less gray than many blue-black inks. It flows nicely in my pen (an early 1950s Parker 51) and does dry quickly. I love the fast-drying property, beautiful color, nice flowing property, and that it is also made in the USA. (And there is the fun of the editorial commentary/graphics of the label)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My expanding ink supply This was purchased a few weeks ago. My curiosity got to me regarding Noodlers. This was one of the 2 bottles purchased, the other Noodler's Brown. The smoothness of this ink has been very impressive. There have been no blotches or blobs. The ink doesn't bleed through on basic writing paper, and excellent for use on the papers I've used so far. The color wasn't what I was expecting. It being a black & blue, it does show it. It's really neat how the hue will change just from changing the angle of the paper. It will look blue one way and then look black and then look mixed. So far, it's made quite an impression.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My newest Noodler's Ink What a nice blue/black ink. The color is exactly that, blue and black. Blue/black has never been a favorite with me because all that I have tried just didn't have distinct blue and black, they were always dark blue or so black I couldn't i didn't see any blue. This bottle has moved to the front of the line on my shelf filled with ink bottles. Goulet Pen Company's service is A1 with me. They shipped my order the same day and both ink bottles were well packed in padded plastic wrap and a plastic zipper bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding color The ink on US paper bills technically doesn't dry. Q'ternity dries fast. I use this on Rhodia dot pads most of the time but also with standard notebook paper, 32lb printer paper, and Post-It notes. Bleed and feathering are minimal on most papers. Soak-through depends on the line weight. Almost all of my nibs are German EF from Rotring and Lamy. Wider nibs would likely change the results. It's also remarkably easy to clean, including one accidental brush with a cotton sweatshirt. It diluted in cold water and left no trace. Rarely do I need an ink to be waterproof, although this does hold up rather well on Rhodia. Usually for me an ink can't dry fast enough and will smear when jotting notes or sketching. For this reason I favor fast drying over anything else and put this ink at the top of the list for speed, color, cleaning, and versatility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from despite bleeding, it has its uses I accidentally mistook this *Black & Blue* for Noodler's standard Blue Black in a shop. As it will bleed heavily on our office copy paper, I thought it was a bust at first, but I'll give it an Excellent rating because it does what it's intended to do and I like the color. Also a fascinating label with a little easter egg on the reverse after you use up the bottle. Because of the penetration I only use it on FP-friendly papers for quick personal notes (it is a perfect match with Post-Its). It flows extremely well, is water-resistant, and does dry nearly instantly. Also like other non-bulletproof inks it is superior when used on dull-coated stock, such as postcards, RSVPs, calendars, and such, where Noodler's BP inks cannot penetrate the clay coating. For that reason alone I'll keep the bottle around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Workhorse I really love this ink, I've been running it with an EF Pilot nib in my Prera and it delivers everything I need, good flow, dark color, good dry time. Makes drawing and sketching a treat. It does dry really fast, not instantaneous, but it only needs 2-3 seconds and you can be pretty sure it's dry on most paper (amazingly, even true when I've tried it in a brush pen, though you may see more feathering there) Haven't been able to wash it off the page, though you will get some blue color bleeding out if you expose it to water, so it's not invincible like bulletproof black. All told, it's an awesome EDC workhorse ink.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent flow, with a price. A wonderful ink with a slightly green/blue cast instead of a pure blue/black. Most Noodler's blue/blacks tend in this shade direction -- other brands go to purple or grey. While this ink dries super fast, as advertised, like most fast dry inks it tends to penetrate through most papers, even some high quality ones. This feature limits it's utility.
