Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impeccable!!! I absolutely love all the colors, they are all beautiful, except the black, yet it was a good and solid black, I love it. My personal favorite from the package would have to be Noodler's Black Swan in Australian Rose's, I am in love with this color. I also like Diamine's Ancient Copper, however, I found that the ink produces a "gunk", if you will, around the nib. Apache Sunset simply put, is just amazing! In general the inks are all great; Oxblood was great, Liberty's Elysium is nice but I am a little disappointed, I expected more, Baystate Blue is just so vibrant, I love it, 54th Massachusetts is a great color that I can get very used to every day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ink sampler saves me money The ink sampler is a great concept. It allows my wife and I to check out colors and properties of inks before buying full bottles. We'll ink up three or four of our pens with just enough ink to evaluate color and properties (flow, drying time, etc) on our normal papers. It is always surprising how differently an ink performs in different pens and for different people. This has opened the door to colors I would never have considered purchasing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Concept I am into Chinese fountain pens. They are very inexpensive so it is easy to own a few. But they exhibit variabilities of all types. The Goulet ink samples allow me to discover the best inks to use with this motley group. Doing it a bottle at a time would take years. Here is a partial list of inks that are in my pens so far: Noodler's Apache Sunset: I see the yellow colors but no red. I am not over the moon with this ink that flows slower than others and whose saturation is spotty. It's a meh. Diamine Red Dragon: This ink has it all over Apache Sunset. It flows like a river leading to smooth strokes leaving a nice wet bead of script. Color saturation is wonderful. It has a bit of purple in it which detracts from the robust color. Both of these inks dry in an acceptable time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this sample package I really loved all these inks. One thing though, as I was attempting to fill a pen with the Noodler's Apache Sunset, I spilled the whole vial. I have since gotten a bottle of this ink. Thanks to Goulet Pen Co. for making these samples available. It is such a great way to try different inks. Right now I have the Pilot Kon Peki in my EDC. There is plenty on ink in the sample to give you a good idea about how the ink looks and performs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As expected? This product is pretty straight forward, you get the inks it says you'll get. Each sample has enough ink to fill a regular piston filler about twice or so, definitely enough ink to figure out if you like the color or not. I didn't particularly like all of the ink samples, but they all worked with my Lamy AL-Star with no problems.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Apparently my tastes aren't universal. Some of these inks are great. Some aren't. (Really, I'm talking about my opinion on colors here.) Here's a quick list of what I thought: 1. Red Dragon - Amazing. awesome. buy it. 2. Syrah - Great stuff. Buy it. 3. Eclat de Saphir - wonderful color, but doesn't dry fast enough for my left-handedness. 4. Air-Corps Blue-Black - blech. 5. Apache Sunset - blech 6. Bad Belted Kingfisher - blech 7. Bad blue heron - blech 8. Baystate Blue - awesome stuff. buy it. 9. Noodler's Black - dries too slowly for my left handed-ness, not as black as Bernanke Black. OK, but meh. 10. Black swan in Australian Roses - blech. Anyway, like I said, my tastes aren't universal. But some of these, (especially the two "bad" inks) I can't figure out why they're so popular. I should add that I mixed up the blues I didn't like (Kingfisher, Heron, Saphir, and Air-Corps) all in one bottle and came out with a very dark grey-ish blue-black that is surprisingly well behaved on almost any paper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fantastic way to get into ink sampling. When I decided to use a fountain pen for my daily writing the ink selection seemed daunting. This sample package was a fantastic introduction into popular inks. I used the blues for work in my daily use fountain pen and the colored inks, in a separate pen, to get a feel for each ink. The voles hold just the right amount to get a good sense of each ink's properties and characteristics. I would recommend getting an ink siring to be able reach the last bit of ink within each vile (a set of 2 for $5 is offered on Goulet).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great Idea I think these sample packs are a fantastic idea! you get just enough ink to decide whether or not you like it enough to buy a bottle. My problem is I like most of it!!!
