My first pen

I love this model. It was my first pen and super easy to fill.

Everyday workhorse

A great everyday pen. The body has a nice shimmer and writes as well as a pen 3 times the price.

Inconsistent Flow

Purchase went very smooth. The pen itself has a nice weight to it and a good general feel. My issue comes in a very inconsistent ink flow - I am using the convertor that came with the pen, loaded with Diamine Sherwood Green ink. The first few pages wrote smoothly and actually much better than I expected given the price point. After about 4-5 pages, the pen began to have intermittent flow issues, and completely stop writing. I tried multiple types of paper and angles to improve flow, but it continues to have issues. At best I get 2-3 sentences before the flow stops in either the middle of a word, or at the start.

Mixed experience but worth a try for the price

The weight and metal body give this inexpensive pen a sense of importance and sturdiness. The "medium" nib writes very broad for me, with several different inks but especially with lubricated inks - I would stick with others. I bought two, Shimmering Sands colour - still going strong - and silver, which fell apart in a strange way with the grip/section separating from the pen. Tried gluing them back together - after all it's a $10 pen so it was worth a shot - but couldn't get it back in working order.

Quickly Shipped

Pen Goulet is a fantastic company and I want to purchase a lot more from them in the fountain pens and ink department. My pen was shipped very quickly - it arrived securely and neatly packaged, with a complimentary sticker, which was also adorable. The pen was exactly as described and as expected. Pricing was also very reasonable. Especially when shipping was basic, I didn't pay for expedited, but I received the package in about a week. So overall, I was very impressed with my first purchase and as I said, will definitely purchase more pens and ink as well. Did I mention their selection!?

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use this pen with ink cartridges? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses standard international ink cartridges, a common size which is available in many colors from various brands.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.
