This BENU Euphoria fountain pen is part of our Goulet Pens-exclusive, special edition Refreshment collection, all featuring fountain pens designed after fun drinks.

Inspired by a cup of Earl Grey tea, this faceted resin fountain pen has an amber brown base with some gold and lavender/blue flecks throughout the barrel and cap replicating the loose leaf tea and lavender found in tea. Real tea leaves are infused into the material. It's stunning and unlike anything we've seen!

The Euphoria pen model is ergonomically designed for long periods of comfortable writing. The pen is complemented by a silver clip, and completed with a silver Schmidt #6 stainless steel nib. The cap pushes to post onto the back of the barrel when writing.

This fountain pen comes with a standard international converter and one blue standard international long cartridge. You can also fill the whole barrel with ink to use as an eyedropper pen with a massive ink capacity.

We do our best to photograph the pens to show how they will appear in person, but due to the nature of the material, there will be some variation in the pattern seen here. This adds an element of uniqueness to the pen, with no two patterns being exactly the same. We cannot honor special requests.

Even prettier than I had expected

The Earl Grey is not my first BENU Euphoria, so I knew how the pen would feel in the hand and how smooth BENU's tuned Schmidt nib would be. I was on the fence about picking this one up for a while because I was unsure of how it would look in person. I ended up taking the leap because I like Early Grey tea. Wow is this pen gorgeous, especially when the light hits it. The gold foil and blue flecks in the pen really pop and the semi-demonstrator acrylic really evoke that tea essence. I pair it frequently with Colorverse Coffee Break. Sometimes De Atramentis Whiskey Brown-Copper if I'm feeling particularly loud.

Very Smooth Writer

I tried this pen as a blind buy. Glad I did. I filed it with iroshizuku yama-guri ink and it's fantastic. It has a medium nib and writes so smooth that it is a joy to use. The may purpose for the pen is to write in my bullet journal. Plus it just looks cool and unique.

This pen has me writing letters again

The Earl Grey is my first Benu pen. I ordered the medium nib to better see the subtler character of some of my favorite inks like Nitrogen and Apache Sunset. Japanese EF nibs are my favorite, so this nib startled me! I was unprepared for how effortlessly it glides over paper like a hovercraft. This isn't a pen built for note taking, it is built for long, cursive, meandering letters to cousins filling them in on thoughts you leave out of emails. My family may now love the pen as much as I do! I see another Benu pen or two in my future. This one is gorgeous and quickly became a favorite writer. Who can I write to today so I can play with my pen? Go on, Treat yourself!

Earl Grey is all that and then some!

My pen arrived today and it’s even better in person. The Earl Grey absolutely glows and the fine nib is perfect.
Many Thanks to Drew and Brian for all the information they provided about this brand and to the reviewers who provided their feedback.

I'm happy

I received this pen in the mail today. it was a really expensive experience mainly because of customs and it took a bit of a detour because of it, but now it's at my home and for me it was worth ordering overseas.
It's a beautiful pen and it writes like a dream. I instantly filled it with one of the ink sample I got (Sailor ink studio 773) and both behaved like poster children on several papers even cheaper note book paper.
I am a happy tea drinker today with the perfect pen for my next writing session.
thank you to the team. you guys did a good job. :)

FAQs about Fountain Pens

How do I fill a fountain pen with ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It depends on the pen's filling mechanism, which you can find in the Technical Specs section above.

Here's a quick definition of the most common filling mechanisms:

  • Cartridge - A small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write! Check out our quick guide here.
  • Converter - A detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter. Here's a video for how to fill a cartridge/converter pen using a LAMY pen as an example.
  • Eyedropper - A pen that utilizes the entire barrel as a reservoir for ink. Ink is directly filled into the barrel, allowing for a high ink capacity. Here's a video on how to do it!
  • Piston - A type of filling system that uses a retracting plunger inside a sealed tube to draw ink into a pen. They are typically either twist or push-operated. These pens cannot accept cartridges or a converter, and only fill from bottled ink.
  • Vacuum - A push-style piston that uses pressure to fill the large pen body with ink. They seal the ink chamber when closed, making it ideal for flying without risk of leaking. Check out our video on how to use a vac filler here.

Check out more info on these filling mechanisms including a video on how to fill each one on our blog.

How do I clean a fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It depends on the filling mechanism, but it mostly comes down to flushing it out with water, and sometimes a little bit of Pen Flush if the ink is really stuck.

It's a bit easier to show than to tell, so we've put together a few quick videos showing you the process:

How often do I need to clean my fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors.

Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.

My pen won’t write! What do I do? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

First things first... make sure you have ink in the pen! Be sure that the ink cartridge or converter is seated properly in the pen, and that you aren't out of ink.

We always recommend you give your pen a good cleaning first, using our Goulet Pen Flush, or a drop of dish soap in some water. New pens often have some machining oil residue left in the feed, so a good cleaning often does the trick first.

If that still doesn't work, try priming the feed. This consists of either dipping your pen nib and feed in ink, or forcing ink from the converter down into the feed.

If it’s still not working after that, please reach out to us so we can help!

What's your return policy? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

You can submit a return request within 30 days of your order date. You can read all our Return Policies here.

To initiate a return, please submit a request at the Return Portal. Our Customer Care team might reach out to you for more information.

Please note we are unable to accept a return of any Namiki or Sailor Bespoke fountain pen for any reason once it has been used with ink. Please thoroughly inspect and dry test the pen before use.
