Ink Review

Supplies Used:

LAMY with medium steel nib
Rhodia No. 16 dot pad, 80g white paper
Tomoé River 52 gsm white paper
Leuchtturm1917 80g notebook

Smear Test (Dry Time):

~30 seconds – For Whom the Bell Tolls has some sheening properties, which almost always indicates that an ink will take longer to dry.

Drip Test (Water Resistance):

Low – Although it wasn't completely erased, it didn't hold up well enough to be legible in any way.

Saturation:

High – There isn't much difference between the first and third swab, as the color comes out very dark starting with the first stroke.

Ease of Cleaning:

Moderate – The sheening aspect allows the ink to be a bit more dried up in certain places and can be tougher to clean out completely.

Shading:

Low – There isn't much difference that can be spotted in the letters/writing since the saturation is so high.

Flow:

Wet – The flow is what causes the saturation to be so high, as a good amount of ink is put out with each stroke.
