Sailor 1911 King of Pens Maki-e Fountain Pen - Zou to Gekkou (Limited Edition)
This masterpiece marks the sixth model in the acclaimed "Animals in the Moonlight" ("Dobutsu to Gekkou") series, meticulously hand-painted by renowned artist Ikki Moroike. The artwork captures the gentle strength and timeless grace of the elephant walking a path that has existed long before memory under the quiet glow of the moon. Its steady stride speaks not of haste, but of patience, resilience, and quiet confidence, revealing a profound beauty that needs no display as a symbol of wisdom and endurance.
Each individual pen features the artist's hand-painted signature and unique serial number drawn directly onto the ebonite barrel. Crafted from classic, high-grade ebonite, the pen is fitted with a magnificent Sailor KOP bi-color 21K Gold nib featuring gold and rhodium plating.
The King of Pens "Zou to Gekkou" is available exclusively through authorized Sailor Bespoke dealers. Limited to 50 pieces worldwide.
Urushi lacquer is made of sap from trees grown only in East Asian countries that take 15 years to reach maturity. After years of patience and care, the sap is then harvested and mixed into lacquer, hand applied to the ebonite pen surface, and kept in high humidity until it sets into a lustrous finish that is waterproof and extraordinarily durable.
This fountain pen comes with a Sailor proprietary converter, two proprietary Sailor ink cartridge, and a cleaning cloth.
