I somewhat guessed on what my preferred nib size would be, and I'm really happy with the Fine. I don't feel like I need to adapt my natural writing style to accommodate the Nib's tendencies in any way. I'd like to try an Extra Fine at some point, but right now I'm loving this Nib.

Makes writing with my shading inks a blast, still not as fun as a stub though.

Sometimes I feel like it is not as solid as the silver nibs, but I think other than the coating on it which might affect things a bit, it is generally ok. I guess only time will tell. Half my pens have the black nib and half have the original, they are all the same size. So I will have comparisons over time.

Needed a replacement and went up from extra fine cause extra fine was a bit scratchy. I prefer thin lines and good feel and this does both acceptably well. I have another old fine Lamy nib that doesn't work as well as the new one so treat your nibs well.

Just another thing to love about the Lamy Safari. built like a tank. With interchangeable nibs fits the safari, vista, ALstar and LX.
NB: if you own one with a fine nib. it won't make that much of a difference.
