Introducing The Lord of The Rings Special Edition Pen and Ink Set – Sauron.  This collection transforms writing into an unforgettable experience, celebrating the courage, heroism, and rich storytelling of Tolkien’s legendary trilogy.

Featuring a dark fiery red body and a grip with the gates of Mordor™ bracketed by Sauron's face and Eye. Sauron's grip is etched with the Black Gates of Mordor. Prominent on the grip is the silhouette of his helmet, as depicted in the Prelude to the Fellowship of the Ring, as well as a render of the top of his tower, Barad-Dûr, complete with the Eye’s fiery manifestation.

Each set includes:

  • TWO gold-plated stainless steel nibs: standard "medium" 0.55mm writing nib PLUS Tengwar Calligraphy nib (similar to a Japanese fude nib).
  • Shadows of Mordor™ 28ml Ink – ominous wine-red ink with gold shimmer

Free with purchase: To further immerse customers into the world of Middle-Earth, each purchase of a pen set will receive a free custom-made lettering book to practice learning their Elven writing skills.

At the heart of The Bijou lies a No. 5 steel nib; experience smoothness in every stroke. With improved machining and threading accuracy, expect a high-quality instrument that is equipped with a removable feeder unit that allows for easy maintenance.

Each pen features high-quality brass and copper bodies, gold-plated steel nibs, and intricately etched details inspired by iconic characters and scenes. The included Tengwar calligraphy nib allows writers to practice Elvish script.

This pen has a threaded cap and fills via standard international converter, which is included.

Disclaimer: The cap is technically postable on the back of the pen, but it's our recommendation to avoid this since the metal threads on the cap could scratch the finish on the pen body.

Must Have for LOTR Fans, but everyone else? Caution

I was an OG Kickstarter backer. I purchased the Mordor and Gandalf sets, plus the Frodo green. The details on the items is superb. Each nib is custom decorated with a scene or speech from LOTR. The dark speech for Mordor, the ring for Gandalf, its beautiful. The pens are tasteful, although a bit light for my taste. I thought it was a cheap plastic but they say its a lacquer.

The red ink looks beautiful but as a water base it smudges and bleeds off the paper even days later. I sadly found out when I lifted my hand to see ruined notes.

Overall? 5/5 for detail, 3/5 for construction, 2/5 for price - these arent cheap. But if you are a LOTR lover? its a must have. I already backed the HP Kickstarter which is next.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I clean a fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It depends on the filling mechanism, but it mostly comes down to flushing it out with water, and sometimes a little bit of Pen Flush if the ink is really stuck.

It's a bit easier to show than to tell, so we've put together a few quick videos showing you the process:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.
