Pilot Metropolitan Fountain Pen - Violet Leopard, Fine is rated 4.7857 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect everyday pen I have been searching for a little over a year now for a pen that I can use day in and day out, even on cheap notebook paper (of which I have an abundance). Every pen I had tried before the Pilot Metropolitan functioned well enough, but bled through too easily or feathered to the point of being illegible when trying to take notes in class. Enter the fine-point Pilot Metro. I have used this pen every single day since acquiring it and I am in love. This is also the cheapest pen I have ever purchased. It writes well, it starts wet, it doesn't skip even when writing very quickly, and the lines are crisp enough for good character definition even on the cheapest of cheap paper. I cannot recommend this pen enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought another one Had bought a black zigzag "M" nib earlier and told my wife to try it after she was lamenting her old high school fountain pen leaking. So she did and and promptly said, "I want this one." So I gave it to her, of course. By then then the new "F" nib models were in stock which left the door open to buy another one! Both write surprisingly smoothly, cleanly, and handle comfortably unposted. Weighted just right to overcome the " cheap plastic" sensation. Comes now in a stylish protective windowed and hinged box suitable for storage or travel--a pleasant surprise. Hard to believe such a good pen for the price. But I do! Great gift idea too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good pen My first fountain pen was a metropolitan medium nib. I love the pen and wanted to try something new, so I got the fine nib. The coloring is fun but still has the sophisticated look I like in fountain pens. The ink cartridge that came with it would not work. I tried every trick I know to get the ink flowing, but to no avail. Not sure if it was me or the pen, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was me! ;P So I chucked the cartridge and went ahead and put in a converter. It writes well. I like the easy, controlled flow of ink. It's a great pen and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes fine nib - I don't think I'm a huge fan of the fine nib.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very durable, all purpose pen. I bought this pen over 2 months ago as a second fountain pen to take everywhere so that I did not mess my Pilot Elite up. This pen has gone to work in my overall pocket, been camping to journal around the fire, stuck into by bag for impromptu note taking, accidentally dropped 2-3 times, and even let my friend's 3yo girl "help" me take notes; it has survived and excelled through all. I bought it with the twist converter and Private Reserve's Tanzanite ink which matches the color of the pen perfectly. With the fine tip it writes beautifully on good paper, and well enough on cheap paper; skips and feathering being nearly nonexistent since becoming more familiar with the pen (and watching some of Goulet's instruction videos on the finer points of fountain pen filling and usage). I have not had it dry out after not using it for a week, a week being the longest it's been inactive. All in all it is a smooth, fun pen to write with, and hardly a sign of wear after all it's been through so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable & writes beautifully Nowadays I keep my Violet Leopard Metropolitan inked with Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-budo, but so far my several Metropolitans have been fine with every ink I've tried in them. They're amazing pens. The Fine nib is seriously fine--I can make notes in tiny spaces--and writes very, very smoothly. (Maybe I was lucky, but they've all been like that.) I don't like massive pens, so these are a good size for me. They feel well-balanced and comfortable to write with. (YMMV, of course.) It would be an astonishing pen for the price even if it didn't come with both an ink cartridge and a converter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this pen I bought this pen, and then went and bought 3 more so that I could have one for work, and a couple more inked up with different colors. It has also encouraged me to write letters and start journaling just to have an excuse to write more. It is inexpensive enough that I don't worry about leaving it on my desk and having it walk off, but it is smooth and with the fine point and Noodler's X-Feather ink, makes a fine, dark line on most of the papers I write on, whether that is the nice paper in my journal, or the cheap copy paper I write on at work. Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pilot Metropolitan fine I received it the other day. A very prompt delivery and securely packed in a nice case. I inked it with Baystate blue and I am really impressed how smooth it is for a fine nib. It is a lot finner than my metropolitan with a medium nib. It has some feedback but it feels nice. A truly nice pen at a great price. Thank you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Purple Pen The only affordable purple pen I could find to hold my purple ink. It writes fine.
