INK SAMPLE - De Atramentis Black Edition - Black-Blue is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from black blue? Once having enjoyed the blght and well behaved poppy red from de aramentis I thought I might try their black blue since my Waterman supply had runout. The ink sadly though interesting is actually dark green. Not a glimmer of blue and wet, very wet, at least in my Onoto Magna classic. I already had a pot of ebony geen from private reserve so another dark green well... all this aside it is a nice dark ink. It flows well and dries quickly enough but did I mention it is not a blue at all. Cheers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Green Blue-black I like it. It writes better than most inks I've used. The only negative is the permenance. I'd put this up as enjoyable as Roher & Klinger Verdigris, but green instead of Verdigris' blue (which I think goes down looking green but dries blue). Bumped others out of the top spot for next bottle. Coming off Private Reserve's Ebony Blue (PREB), and the colors are very similar. A dark green (which I like), dark enough it doesn't look green at a distant glance. This is less saturated than PREB. Much more variation in the shading. It looks a bit like matte paint (rather than PREB's ink/shine sense). It writes wet, but not so wet as PREB. It also doesn't soak through paper (Rhodia, Leuchtturm, copier paper, Post-its). It dries quicker than PREB, but slower than Noodler's 54Mass (10+ seconds by my test on Rhodia). Not waterproof (upper layer smears pretty easily, though bottom does seem stuck to the paper ok). Lamy Safari-M. By the way, Brian's ink swab's are pretty darn good on showing the color/consistency of the ink. They can't show how they feel, but they're pretty good at showing color/shade/feather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing color! This was my first ink sample purchase and I love it! The ink seems to change from blue to black depending on how slow you write and I think it is beautiful!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice, very smooth. I bought a sample and found this one will look good on any type of paper. Just a very sweet ink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deep, rich ... color, but I'm not sure how I feel about De Atramentis' ink in general.
