Rated 5 out of 5 by from For a simple item, it has been a godsend! I've purchase pens, inks and nibs from Goulet Pens as well as a couple of sample racks. While searching around, I found a simple item called the Goulet Grip. I thought it might be better than the rubber jar grips or textured rubber balloon I was using to remove nib and feed assemblies from my pens. Boy, is it! Works like a charm. More solid and better gripping than my previous methods. I use it on all my pens now when I go to disassemble them for cleaning. No worries about staining it since it's black. Quick rinse and dry off. Great little item. Highly recommended. (Look and Feel only gets a good since it is only a strip of thick rubber.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Just got this in today and the properties of this grip are perfect. Soft and resilient enough to conform to complex surfaces, nice grippy texture, thick enough to get a good firm grip. I'm keeping it in its bag so it won't get dust and lint on it (my pen cabinet drawers are lined in felt). Thought I'd be the first reviewer since I ordered it just after Brian's video came out! Thanks guys for coming up with such a useful tool, Thanks Team Goulet for the wonderful customer service. I found out about the Goulet Grip 5 minutes after placing an order and Margaret got my order updated within 10 minutes! Thanks Margaret, and everyone for making this the best online retailer! Great video Brian, a good resource for nib and feed removal for a lot of different pens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Tool @ Low Price I threw in this piece of rubber with my last order, seeing as it's so cheap. Boy, was it worth it! I've only owned it for about a week or two, and used it a few times already. - Gripping a nib for removal - Gripping a short and thin section as I screwed the pen body on - Gripping a blind cap (thing on the top of a piston filler pen that turns) to stop it spinning as I tightened a screw on the underside. All of these things were made much easier with this little grip. Undoubtedly a worthwhile purchase for someone who fiddles with their pens!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A God send Most of my pens have worked fairly well; some may have required a little adjustment or nib exchange but overall, it has been a pleasant experience. However, I recently bought a KarasKustoms INK fountain pen that leaked some ink that dried on the grip unit threads that made it impossible to disassemble and refill. Nothing I did would give me a good enough grip to take it apart. I even tried wrapping the grip unit with a silicon potholder and used some pliers -- bad idea; I just ended up scratching the brass grip. I almost gave up hope until I remembered that The Goulet Pen Company sold Goulet grips. Within 10 seconds of using these pieces of ingenuity, I was able to disassemble a pen that had frustrated me for over 3 weeks. I was finally able to give my pen a good cleaning and it now works perfectly. Thank you for saving my sanity!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent tool Before my purchase of the Goulet Grip, removal of my nib and feed could only be done so with a paper towel, as other objects could not provide enough friction. In a few instances this would result in my feed getting small paper bits inside of it, which led to them getting stuck in the nib somehow. Ever since I received the grip in the mail it has been a great convenience, making the cleaning of my pen more efficient, less time consuming, and worry-free. I would definitely recommend this to any fountain pen user, whether he or she is a beginner or veteran.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little item and VERY USEFUL tool! Until I tried taking apart fountain pen pieces especially when you add the factor that water necessary for cleaning pens makes everything even more slippery, I never realized just how useful and needed a seemingly small, simple tool like this can be, especially for one with severely arthritic, deformed hands such as.me. I actually ordered and use two Goulet grips. I cut my first Goulet grip lengthwise into two identical strips for those times when you need to take apart two stubborn pieces and need to grip two opposing parts. The second one I use as is, unaltered, when I need more gripping power. This tool is perfect and I applaud The Goulet Pen Co for, not only realizing it's need and benefit to the fountain pen community, but also on taking the steps to create and market such a simple yet ingenious device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my most useful tools! A piece of rubber, what could go wrong I said! And I am glad I did! It is not difficult to bend and it conforms and grips solidly to whatever I throw at it. Excellent for gripping and replacing nibs, feeds, etc., opening bottles with ink dried around the cap, the possibilities are endless and stretch beyond fountain pens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Handiest slip of rubber" is right! There isn't a whole lot to say about a slip of rubber except that this particular slip works, and it works very well. I've changed a few nibs and have always been a little nervous while doing so, but not any more. $2.00 isn't much to pay for peace of mind. Get one. Seriously.
