Diamine Night Sky (50ml Bottled Ink) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely Black with Shimmer I put this ink in a TWSBI Vac-700 with 1.5mm Goulet nib - a very wet combination, which is what I wanted. The ink flowed well and the silver glitter in the ink made it look like it was still wet after it dried. More subdued look than I expected, but it is full of the silver glitter and is beautiful. I would use this when I wanted something less dramatic than some of the other glitter inks, but still want the effect. Flowed well, nicely wet, dried relatively quickly, behaved well on copy paper (minimal bleedthrough with wet, wide nib), but of course is best on Tomoe River, Clairefontaine, Rhodia and fountain pen friendly papers. Never seen a Diamine ink that wasn't high quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely shimmery black I used Night Sky in my TWSBI Diamond 580 with 1.1 stub nib pen last year to address all my Christmas cards. It performed well and I had no problems with clogging or cleaning the pen. I did not need to dismantle the TWSBI to clean it, either, just flushed it using the twist mechanism. I also used Magical Forest to sign the cards, and had no problems with it. I had better luck with these two colors retaining their shimmer when dry than I did with some of the other colors or with Emerald of Chivor. I did turn the pen over a few times every now and then to mix the sparkles, and of course shook the bottle of ink before filling the pen. I plan to use these inks again this Christmas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Black Ink Ever I do not buy black inks because I think they are too business and I want my writing to be more colorful. This ink came in the sample pack. I'm using it in my Noodlers Konrad. The flow is great; my pen still guided along the page without any scratching; and the sparkle in the sun light is amazing looking. It's like a the shiny glistening wings of a black crow were all the colors of the rainbow shine all at once. LOVE LOVE LOVE this ink!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A nice black with some silver sparkle; darker than the sample swab I received my sample of this ink and am using it in my new TWSBI pen with a 1.1 nib. I really like this ink and feel that it lives up to my expectations, although it doesn't look nearly as silver (nor as gray) as on the sample swab. In this pen, it flows very freely and writes a wet, black line with some subtle silver highlights. The silver is definitely visible at an angle, even on cheap paper--perhaps more so on cheap paper. I made sure to shake the sample before inking the pen and I tilt the pen back and forth several times before I begin writing. This ink does not look like a glitter or metallic pen, but the silver is there in everything I've written with it on various papers (from Clairefontaine Triomphe to Rhodia to copy paper and on down to free notepad paper). By way of comparison, the sample of Emerald of Chivor ink I received some time ago did not live up to the hype (sometimes a slight gold shimmer in sunlight; no red sheen), and the personal note on my invoice that was written with a broad nib and Blue Pearl ink shows hardly any sparkle at all, even under a magnifying glass. Apparently these shimmer-type inks are not always very consistent. So far, it's one out of three that I've seen for shimmer. I want to try a few more colors of these Diamine inks when they are back in stock. This ink flows wetter in my 1.1 nib and takes a little longer to dry than most that I have used. It also seems to be more water resistant. I put a dry writing sample under the faucet and the ink ran only a little bit after sitting a few minutes. I'm still fairly new to fountain pens so that may not have been the standard way to test it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lovely ink, but... This was one of my first full bottle ink purchases - and even with an eyedropper Charlie pen, and a Noodler's Creaper flex pen, the ink clogged or the ink would just not flow. When it does work it is a lovely dark ink with subtle shimmer. But I can only get it to work once in a blue moon and so feel like I wasted $20 on a bottle I can't actually use. :/

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Starry starry night I recently purchased this ink as I wanted something beyond black (if I'm writing letters with fountain pens, I need memorable inks) and this is perfect. The shimmer isn't "in your face" but a subtle, delightful silver glimmer. I've used it on Rhodia, Tomoe, and Clairefontaine paper and the shimmer is beautiful. I've been writing with a Lamy Safari 1.1 (which makes my handwriting look AMAZING) but I want to try it in my Broad nib as well. As others have said, I also recommend gently massaging/rotating the pen periodically to make sure the glitter is all through the ink as it does like to settle. And use a bulb flush. The glitter really does like to hang out in the feed but a bulb flush will take care of that nicely. I'm now writing my first letter with it Night Sky :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! I always look for ways for my penmanship to stand out. With the little bit of shine that appears, I will get a lot of attention when I fill out my forms at work. Very smooth writing and does not bleed on cheap paper, like some other inks I've used. I wish it was a darker black, but the shimmer makes up for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Diamine Night Sky I do not have enough words for this ink. This Diamine Night Sky Shimmer ink was my very first Diamine Ink purchase. I absolutely adore this ink. The ink is smooth, and does not really clog my Platinum Fountain pen. It is like one of the Metallic Inks from the Sakura Gelly Roll Pens, but with the option of having fine lines. Although the fine nibs make it a tad hard to see the glitter, the ink is still a beauty none the less. This ink looks fantastic on Clairefontaine Paper. I cannot wait to try more of these inks.
