The Kaweco Sport is a pocket-sized fountain pen that when posted transforms into a full-sized pen that easily fits in your hand. This solid cyan turquoise blue fountain pen comes with a stainless steel nib and an ink cartridge to get you started writing right away! It uses short standard international ink cartridges, or you can easily convert it to an eyedropper pen with a little bit of silicone grease. Converter and optional clip sold separately.

Note: This pen comes with an ink cartridge stored in the body. If it doesn’t fall right out, you can get it loose by giving the body a few solid taps on a hard surface.

All my pockets are full of Kaweco Sport pens...

I have many Kaweco Sports, at this point. Of all the pens I have, these are just an easy favorite. They are compact, so I can carry more of them around, but they also post up to a very comfortable length for writing or doodling. All of the nibs have held up beautifully, even vs sheening inks that clog everything else. They come apart easily enough for quick cleaning, but don't seem loose or leaky after many disassemblies. They don't bleed on my fingers or into the caps NEARLY as much as my more expensive pens do when jostled all over creation in pockets and bags, in wet/hot weather. I love the broad range of available colors and nib sizes and all the different optional clips, which all fit great. They're pretty great.

Even better than reviews say

I just started getting into fountain pens and have bought a couple so far of varying quality. The Kaweco Sport kept popping up in various gift guides, and it's better than I imagined. The ink flow is incredibly smooth from the get-go with no scratching for minutes to get the ink flowing. With the cap on, it's the perfect length in hand.

This little pen writes great - especially for the price. Plus it easily goes in your pocket for whenever you need it.

Lovely Fountain Pen

I love everything about this pen from it's extra fine point to the Cyan color, the body shape and how well put together it is. The nib is lovely to look at; appears beautifully crafted. So far, as soon as I put the pen to paper it writes. :)

Great little pen

I really love this pen, although the grip section is too small (for my hand) for extended writing sessions. It writes reliably (not terribly wet), is convertible for eyedropping, and is overall a great pen. Definitely worthy of 5 stars for someone with a smaller hand!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use this pen with ink cartridges? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses standard international ink cartridges, a common size which is available in many colors from various brands.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.
