This is the fifth model in the exclusive "Animals in the Moonlight" (Dobutsu to Gekkou) series, a true testament to exquisite craftsmanship and artistry. The pen evokes the mysterious beauty of a cobra under the quiet illumination of moonlight, with silver light reflecting off its scales as its body shimmers like flowing water.
Crafted by the renowned artist Ikki Moroike, each "Cobra in the Moonlight" pen features his hand-painted signature and a unique serial number on the barrel.
This King of Pen sized ebonite pen is made by Maki-e artist Ikki Moroike, who carefully places each detail to create the final breathtakingly intricate design of a lone wolf howling up to a midnight moon.
It comes equipped with Sailor's legendary 21k gold nib in the massive King of Pens size.
The King of Pens "Cobra to Gekkou" is available exclusively through authorized Sailor Bespoke dealers. Limited to 50 pieces worldwide.
Urushi lacquer is made of sap from trees grown only in East Asian countries that take 15 years to reach maturity. After years of patience and care, the sap is then harvested and mixed into lacquer, hand applied to the ebonite pen surface, and kept in high humidity until it sets into a lustrous finish that is waterproof and extraordinarily durable.
This fountain pen comes with a Sailor proprietary converter, a proprietary Sailor ink cartridge, a bottle of Sailor ink, and a cleaning cloth.
