J. Herbin Orange Indien (30ml Bottled Ink) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from go orange! Yay! Great colour. (I think). I'm colour blind so I guess my perception of the colour is pleasing to me. Probably look to other reviews to see if you'd like it. Or hey--just buy it! Flow is good. Very smooth writing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A beautiful orange I have been looking for a really nice orange for quite a while, dark enough to be practical but still distinctly orange. This ink fits the bill. A little shading, dries reasonably quickly, at least modestly water resistant, and what I would call a "Princeton Tiger" orange. My only complaint is at the moment I have it in an amber Noodler's Topkapi, and that pen is just a little too small for my hand, so I cramp after writing a bit. I will have to look for another suitable pen. Thank you Goulets for featuring this ink (and the Fall themed pens)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent inks, I love them all I bought a flacon each of : Delta Yellow, J.H. Indian orange, J.H. Cyclamen-pink, and Waterman Purple tenderness. Yellow -- my intention was to do drawing/sketching using the primary color inks only. The idea didn't work. I may need some more experimentation/practice. The ink itself is excellent, nice yellow color. It looks like the ink makes the nib glide smoother on the paper. Indian orange -- excellent color as expected just like the skin color of the citrus fruit. Another "must have" from J.H. Cyclamen-pink -- In retrospect I don't know why I bought this. Another excellent encre from J.H., nonetheless. Seductive gay rose pink color. Purple tenderness -- "The standard" purple ink everybody love. Another "must have" for any connoisseur of FPs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from if orange is what you want, this is it very orange, overwhelmingly so, but certainly orange. it doesn't have that spice/cinnamon tint that appears on the computer screen. it is just plain, bright orange.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Orange Indien I am very happy with all three of these inks. I am using different colors for everyone in the household for calendar entries and had bought PR Shoreline gold and PR Spearmint locally, but was having difficulties with flow and dry time. I am using a momagenda desktop journal. The Spearmint just was not drying and the Shoreline Gold was bleeding through and slow to dry. LS and OI are far better at flow and dry time. the Orange I has a bit of bleed through. It does not have as much shading as the Shoreline Gold. The Lierre Sauvage is not as intense a color as Spearmint, but it works really well and is very legible. The Eclat du Saphire is a really pretty and fairly intense blue. I get a lot of shading with a Pelikan 400 fine nib. It has good flow, but not ridiculous rivers (Aurora blue and Noodlers Turquoise Eel put down way too much ink with this pen).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice but simple For me, this ink was flat (tested in a Safari and Sailor 1911) and did not shade very much (slightly more in the sailor because of the music nib). The color seemed basic to me but is pleasant to look at.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Orange Indien This is a gorgeous orange with beautiful shading. I like it as much or more than Private Reserve's Orange Crush. It is less saturated and much less red than Orange Crush, but just as lovely.
