De Atramentis Tobacco (35ml Bottled Ink) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very light scent, very good ink. Super light scent, or my nose isn't working splendidly. I could tell it was there when filling the ink from the bottle, but I did not notice it when writing. I had no feathering or flow issues on my stationary (Crane) or any of my legal pads. I was pleasantly surprised about the stationary as it is rather tough on fountain pens due to the nature of the paper. The ink had no bleed through on any paper I used it on, and was dry relatively quickly. Shading on white pages was a medium brown that definitely leaned to a tan color. So far I'm loving this ink.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not as expected but still okay Firstly I am using a leuchtturm 1917 dot grid with a 03 fine nib (preppy pen). this ink is very wet and the shading is very high! But it does not smell on the paper, only in the bottle. I personally think the bottle smells like tobacco, but I've had cigar smokers say otherwise. The color wasn't as dark for me as it looks in the picture, so I would not use for notes or everyday use. And it's not very water resistant at all, a few drops of water fell in my notebook and the already dried ink bled out immediately. Still, it's a fun ink to try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasant color, nice smell! I bought this ink because I wanted to try a scented ink with a color that would match the color of my Pelikan M400 tortoiseshell brown. I used this ink - pen combo with fine nib on Ancicraft 100gm paper: writing felt smooth and wet. The color is pleasantly different from the usual black and blue, and not too flashy. It smells nice; the scent is strong enough for the writing experience to be pleasantly different, but it does not overwhelm the experience. My penmanship is not worth commenting on, so I can not comment too much on how this would do for folks who are interested in those aspects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasant I wanted to dab on some the moment I opened the little bottle. The colour's exactly as described.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from De Atramentis Tobacco There really was no scent to this. That aside, I like the color a lot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gentle scent; like Grandpa's pipe and Grandma's lilac perfume This is a lovely dark brown ink; close enough to black for use at work with a touch of flair, and it would be great fun for steampunk cosplay document writing. It's the kind of brown black ink fades to after a while; or the color lemon juice ink burns to. The scent, as with the other scented inks from this maker I have sampled, is very delicate. I smell it best in the vial; not once it dries. Good in a way -- it won't knock your socks off with stank. Bad in a way -- my fantasies of writing letters that could be hung in the closet as pomanders will have to wait, alas. The scent, as you may have guessed from my header, is much like Grandfather's bourbon vanilla Borkum Riff pipe tobacco, with a touch of lilac. I do not know that I would love it enough for a whole bottle (hence 4 stars) but I can certainly see buying sample vials now and again, for when I need a suitable brown.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tobacco Ink The color was a bit lighter than I anticipated, but still a nice ink. If you are interested in the scent-- it is not noticeable when you are writing, but I could smell it when I opened the bottle...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the smell! This ink has a great smell that takes me back to my childhood when my dad used to smoke a pipe. Very aromatic, and the color is great.
