De Atramentis Dianthus (35ml Bottled Ink) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty ink, but tough to clean up I'm a BSB user, so I'm used to bleaching my fingers on a regular basis. :) I got some of this Dianthus ink on my fingers the other day while refilling my pen. I'd also refilled my BSB pen that day and had some of it on my fingers as well. Chlorine bleach took out the BSB after a minute or so, but the Dianthus only faded a little and never came out all the way. Some might consider this a drawback, but I'm pretty impressed by this bleach-resistance that is superior to the much-touted BSB. Both are beautiful and tough inks, but I expected that from Noodler's and was SURPRISED to get similar performance from this lovely De Atramentis ink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning violet shade, nudging close to a magenta This color is only available in scented form, but the scent isn't that bad. (Smells like the girly-soaps in the guest-bathroom I'm not allowed to use.) As Noodler's Baystate Blue is to ultra-blue, De Atramentis Dianthus is to violet. I gave this ink to my son as a stocking-stuffer, but almost wanted to keep it for myself.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from BRIGHT PURPLE! (smells like baby powder & flowers) Love the color, not sure about the scent, but I don't like baby powder flowery scents. Not as bad when it airs out on paper but straight out the bottle is a bit much for someone who doesn't like powdery/flowery smells. Might look for a color similar to this one as I really do enjoy the color (rich bright purple with a hint of magenta/fuschia), but I'm not a fan of the scent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High contrast, starts smooth every time Minimal feathering, great flow... barely ever train-tracks. Best-behaved ink I currently use, with Noodler's Nikita being a near-second. Great ink!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning purple, nudging-close to magenta This purple is to purple-inks what Noodler's Baystate Blue is to blue-inks! It's incredibly vibrant and doesn't shade much (just like BSB.) It has minimal feathering on cheap paper as well. The scent is OK...smells like girly-soap to me. But unless you sniff the bottle or nib, you can't smell it anyway. This gorgeous purple is only available in scented form. I gave this ink to my son (we all have our own 'signature' ink colors in this family), but I almost didn't want to give it away. It's a great ink and we're both very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't Beat this Hot Pink Ink I'm using Dianthus in a Broad nibbed Pilot/Namiki Vanishing Point, and I *love* the hot pink with purple undertones. (Smells good too!) The VP likes the ink a lot, and I get gorgeous color on Red & Black notebook paper as well as low quality legal pads (with just a touch of bleed-through). Honestly, Dianthus on crummy yellow legal pad paper looks almost fluorescent ~ a very interesting effect. At this rate, I may need to buy another bottle!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rich, lucious - but use a fine nib! Lovely rich shading in this ink, and I love the smell . That doesn't last long though, and is gone by the time the ink dries. The colour is beautiful and was a wonderful match for my pink Lamy Safari. I'd have given this five stars, but this ink proved much too wet for a medium nib, and even with a fine nib it produced more bleed-through than other inks. Wonderful on Clairefontaine or Rhodia paper, but don't trust it on anything less! :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely ink, amazing color payoff I positively love the color of this ink. It is bright and very intense. It's very opaque, unlike some other fountain inks that can be a bit watery. My only qualm with the ink is that it is extremely wet and it can slightly bleed through even my Clairfontaine paper. This might be due to my use of a med. nib, so I'll try with a fine and see how that works.
