Conklin Duragraph Fountain Pen - Orange Nights, Fine

In 1923, the Duragraph model was launched, and shortly afterwards was considered to be "the definitive" pen. The model was named by combining the words, durable and graph - Duragraph. Created to last as an heirloom to serve many generations, the Duragraph is offered with a lifetime guarantee. In honor of the Duragraph's 91st birthday, Conklin has introduced a new Duragraph collection that brings a fresh, modern style to a timeless oversize flat top design. Crafted from quality hand made resins, the Duragraph is substantial in size, yet not so large to be unwieldy in the hand.

Conklin Duragraph Fountain Pen - Orange Nights, Fine is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the pen but it doesn't post well I love this pen - it's gorgeous, writes well (am using Take-Sumi), have written on Amalfi, Rhodia, and my William Hannah paper. It does not post fully which unbalances the pen and makes it feel clunky so I don't post. I'm ok with that, but, for me it leaves the aesthetics feeling unfinished so I'm rating it a 4. I needed a wetter ink in it and that's ok too. I do love the twist in converter - there's no guessing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth pen I purchased this pen as my first Conklin pen and am glad I did. Having 50+ other pens, I was worried about the nib and flow. Turns out the fine is just right with a nice clean line of ink. Not too dry or too wet. Overall very satisfied and would recommend this pen and Conklin nib. I especially like the screw in converter at this price point.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pen body, but baby's bottom nib Jumped on this pen as soon as I saw it, I love orange pens. I've never bought a Conklin pen before: the Duragraph feels substantial. The orange flake has a subtle depth to it, and it looks especially nice contrasted against the black cap and section. There's a screw-in converter included, which is very nice at this price point. The nib that came with my pen did have baby's bottom, so it didn't write at first. I have experience with this issue and nib smoothing tools so I was able to fix it, though in the end I decided to pop in a 1.5mm stub goulet nib I had lying around. Writes wonderfully now with a perfect medium flow and great balanced weight to the pen. It does post but it's awkwardly long if you do, so I would say this pen is un-postable. Happy with the purchase, but it loses a star for the baby's bottom nib it came with.
