Introducing the new Platinum #3776 Century: “Travia”. It is a coined name combining Tradition and Via (meaning "path" in Latin). Built on the heritage of writing culture shaped by those who came before us, “#3776 Century Travia” represents an evolving road that extends straight into the future.

The Travia comes with the FLAF (Float Like A Feather) nib - originally on the #3776 Century Decade fountain pen. Its sharper, more acute tip now delivers a new writing experience - supple and smooth as if its gliding across the paper. It is writing like a feather floating across the paper while at the same time offers precision control to express the finest nuances with lines exactly as you intend.

With “#3776 CENTURY Travia,” a flat-top design introduced on the Decade is adopted, while evolving it into a long-body format with a metal component (balancer) integrated at the center of the barrel. In addition, the grip section also incorporates metal, bringing the center of gravity closer to the fingertips and maintaining a stable balance even during extended writing sessions. Whether writing fine characters or bold strokes, the pen is engineered to respond exactly as intended. From the moment you hold it, you can feel its defining qualities: a natural, secure fit in the hand and a reassuring sense of weight.

The renowned “Slip & Seal Mechanism”, which prevents ink from drying out, now boasts enhanced airtightness, extending its effectiveness dramatically from about 2 years to over 3 years.

The Platinum #3776 Travia fountain pen set comes with a Platinum ink cartridge, a converter for use with bottled ink, and the book "Ah, Fifty Years of Hardship" which was first published in 1966, written by Platinum founder Shunichi Nakata. The sets are limited to 2,000 worldwide. After the sets sell out, the Travia pen will be available later on, as a standard release, at a lower price.

Limited to just 2,000 units worldwide, this set is sure to delight collectors and writing enthusiasts alike.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I fill this fountain pen from an ink cartridge? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses proprietary Platinum ink cartridges, which are available in a few colors.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.
