The Vega Collection brings a splash of color to Montverde’s flagship Invincia collection. The solid brass barrels and heavy lacquer coating with purple splatter are accented with gun metal trim, making each pen fun and functional.

Made from solid brass and assembled by hand, this mid-weight pen is ergonomically balanced and is comfortable to hold, perfect for daily writing. It fills via standard international ink cartridges or converter (included).

This fountain pen is offered with your choice of a reliable, smooth-writing German made JoWo #6 black steel nib in extra-fine, fine, medium, 1.1mm stub or the new JoWo Omniflex flexible steel nib for variation in line width. With five nib options, you are sure to find a selection to fit your handwriting style.

Our note about the JoWo Omniflex nib: This flex nib will allow you to experience more bounce and softness than writing with conventional nibs. You can achieve some line variation with a little additional downward pressure, to a point. We recommend flexing the nib to about twice the line width that you would see without using any pressure. Please take care to avoid pressing too hard on the nib, as over-flexing could prevent the tines from returning fully to their original position and decrease or stop your ink flow.

amazing pen

This is an amazing pen. I rank it among my favorite pens that includes my Esterbrooks and Pelikans. It exceeds these pens as it is a little heavier and I realize I have a preference for heavier pens. I still think this is a great value.

From a repeat Invincia Pen buyer

I really wanted to write a review of this pen. At this price it's an excellent addition to the Invincia line, of which I own 4 of. If you're considering this pen, I have some thoughts that may be helpful.First off, I bought this for my daughter for her eleventh birthday. She has been asking for a fountain pen for a while now and she likes my other Invincia pens and asks to write with them when I have them out. As and added potential benefit for new pen collector, the nibs in these are very easily swapable so you can try different things or fix a nib easily and for not too much money if a novice accident occurs. The finish on this pen isn't quite as spectacular as my Invincia in Carbon Fiber and Rose Gold (worth a little extra), or the beautiful abalone limited editions but, at this price point, this pen is just lovely. The finish is nice. The color is perfect. I showed it to my wife who also collects a bit and she was impressed. I also want to specifically say that the cap on this Starlight Purple pen posts better than my other Invincias. I'll come back to this in a moment but my other experience in this line made this stand out. This cap slips on the back of the pen and slides down smoothly and securely. It looks and feels really nice.General Invincia stuff from someone who know a bit:- All of my Invincias are EXCELLENT writers. I have a lot of pens, some costing quite a lot more, and the Invincias punch well above their price point on the writing experience.- They are somewhat heavy pens. I like that.- I don't really love the omniflex experience but I can see how it's subjective. It puts down a lot of ink and I guess I just don't want to write in the way that is required to get the most out of it (it's basically a wet-medium for me).- Keeping in mind that this Starlight Purple posts perfectly, posting has been mixed bag with my other InvinciasI think four pens is a decent sample. Two of my previous pens were too snug to post when I got them. One got better after a little effort and time, and one of my limited editions still doesn't post properly, although it's just a bit snug and can probably be fixed with a little care. I still enjoy those pens but that issues annoys me. I also would ding those pens in my rating, but this pen has no discernable issues.- The broad jowo nib on the Invincia is fun and dramatic. I have one that I have been using with Pelikan Golden Burl ink and WOW!- Other than the posting thing, these are really nice looking and feeling pens. The first one exceeded my expectations and here I am at #4.- It's a lot of pen for the money and we got a free bottle of ink

Okay but not great

I wanted to love this pen as much as I love the Innovas. Alas, it doesn't fit in my hand nearly as well as the Innovas, and for some reason the grip feels too small. I also don't like how the pen feels top heavy with the cap posted. The Omniflex nib is okay but tends to dry out. If I were keeping this pen I would swap for a F or EF nib.

Monteverde Invischia Vega

Quality pen, but I need to get used to the feel. The area where fingers rest is slicker than I am used to. Just will take more time to use I do like the output of the nib.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use this pen with ink cartridges? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A cartridge is small, disposable, sealed plastic reservoir that holds fountain pen ink. These come pre-filled with ink, and typically you just push to insert them into place and you'll be ready to write!

This pen uses standard international ink cartridges, a common size which is available in many colors from various brands.

You can learn more about how to actually install an ink cartridge on our blog, or in this video tutorial:

How do I use a converter? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

A converter goes in the place of where the ink cartridge would normally go. From there, you can fill your fountain pen from bottled ink.

A converter is a detachable and refillable ink reservoir that allows you to use bottled ink in a cartridge-accepting pen. Typically you will install the converter into the grip section, dip the nib/feed into the ink, and twist or pull the converter knob to draw ink into the converter.

We have a great video showing how to use a converter here:

How do I clean this fountain pen? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

It mostly comes down to flushing out the pen with water, and sometimes a little bit of pen flush if the ink is really stuck.

We put together a blog post with step-by-step instructions, or you can watch the video here:

We recommend a good cleaning every 2 weeks, and any time you change ink colors. Water will usually do the trick, but we recommend you use our Goulet Pen Flush if the ink has been left in the pen for a while and could have dried up, or when you’re switching ink colors.

For even more information about fountain pen cleaning, check out our Fountain Pen 101 video blog post.
