Edison Pearlette Fountain Pen - Azure Skies is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful pen I've purchased the 3 Edison Pearlette pens offered on Goulet Pens, each in a different nib size (F, M, B) and I couldn't be happier. The size is perfect for my hands. All nibs wrote very smoothly with no skipping or scratchiness and perform will with a variety of inks. The nib/grip section ratio is appropriate (#5 nib). I've struggled with the Edison Beaumont and Tactile Turn Gist, which are of a similar size but have a #6 nib. That's is something I'll keep in mind for futures purchases. The only con is the price; it's a bit on the expensive side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Chatoyance, Wonderful Pen This is my 5th Edison pen, so I already knew how wonderful Brian Gray's pens and their Edison nibs are. When the new materials for the Pearlette pen were announced just about two weeks ago, I was instantly drawn to this lustrous material. When I saw the 5/18/17 Thursday Things last week, the fantastic close up photo of the Sonoran Desert Pearlette so impressed me I ordered it only a few minutes later. When my Pearlette came, I was overwhelmed with the bright, lustrous amber/gold chatoyancy blazing out of the depths of this material. I got the fine nib, and it is a wonderful, wet nib. I have a fine nib in another Edison pen (#6 nib) and this #5 Pearlette nib is a little finer than the #6, though still very wet, the width of the line is dependent on ink & paper used. This fine nib is closer to my #6 EF Edison nib. I don't mind, this is a great nib for writing in my pocket TN notebook and nearly everything I use fountain pens for. The fit and finish are precise, I love its understated elegance - no bands, finials, just a smooth silhouette from end to end, a classic cigar shape, with no step between the cap and barrel. Every bit of the pen is made from this amazing acrylic material: grip, finial, barrel. This is a smaller pen, but it is still a tiny bit wider than the Pilot Metropolitan, close to the Edison Beaumont, and about the same as the Platinum Balance. In length it is close to all three of these pens. It can be capped, but it fits my hand perfectly uncapped too. This is not a real small pen like the Kaweco Sport at all. The clip lets it sit low in a pocket. Brian Gray named this acrylic resin aptly, it does look like a desert sunset. I have been drawn to amber color pens, especially those with a depth of color, and I finally have what I think is the finest. The highlights gleam from the depth of the material, rotating it is mesmerizing. A bit of feedback in the nib, but nicely smooth, no adjustments needed at all. I first put Noodler's Apache Sunset in it as this seemed so appropriate. Later put Noodler's #41 Brown in it. The brown ink definitely writes finer than the Apache Sunset. This is now my favorite pen, closely followed by my Burnished Gold Edison Collier. I see that the Sonoran Sunset pens have run out in only two weeks! There will be more, this is an Edison Production pen so it will be available for a good while.
