Lamy 2000 Fountain Pen - Extra-Fine August 28, 2014
Reviewer: David Covert from Hayward, CA United States
The Lamy 2K is not for everyone;
It has a modern styling that some wont like.
Its nib has zero flex in the Extra Fine that I use. I can't speak to the other nib sizes officially but I suspect they are jsut as rigid.
The ink window is almost useless other than to let you know if you have some ink, or you don't.
It does have a smaller than average 'sweet spot', I tend to rotate my pen a bit during extended writing so I have had to rotate back at times.

Those are the some things I suspect people may not like about the pen.
But for me personally it is, FAR AND AWAY, my favorite pen.
Out of the box this pen wrote smoother than any other pen I own.
Its flow is excellent with Noodlers Black and it has never skipped.
The EF leaves a super fine line that I simply love as I write relatively small.
The fit and finish of this pen is extraordinarily presice!

If you like the style, and zero flex nib, I can not recommend this pen highly enough! It's a classic for a lot of good reasons!

Not great, but not bad.... August 6, 2014
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Melbourne, Australia
Absolutely beautiful piece of hardware, but I find it slightly difficult to write with. I find my EF Lamy Safari much easier/smoother.

It's quite specific about the angle it is held on. It will often not put much or any ink down on up strokes if I'm not careful.

...favorite pen July 27, 2014
Reviewer: Peter Buergin-Witt from Sturgeon Bay, WI United States
Of course, liking the L2K is a matter of taste and therefore beyond discussion.  But owning another L2k and having seen it age so gracefully, acquiring a fabulously personal patina, I can only marvel at the timeless, minimalist wabi-sabi quality of this instrument.  This new one is my first EF L2k, so crisp and new next to my well-used M-nibbed veteran, and it wrote perfectly smooth out of the box, slightly finer than my 'fine' Pilots, juicy and with a well defined line (first inking with Organics Studio "Blue Merle").  Special thanks to Goulet's Drew C. Brown for inspecting the pen.  Great company, great service, great pen!

Baffled July 10, 2014
Reviewer: Brendan from Edmonton, AB, Canada
Looks nice. Feels nice.

The first time I used it I thought it was the nicest writing pen I'd ever used. The second time I noticed it seemed a bit scratchier. A few days later the thing is basically a scouring pad. Useless, absolutely useless. Needless to say I'm truly baffled at what happened to my pen. Can't say all of them are like this.
