Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Nice Surprise I have no idea why I bought this ink. However, it was a great surprise. This ink was well behaved, even on cheap paper. I love the color. It is a true red! There is no shading or nuance to the ink, but I don't think people buy red inks when they're looking for this. It is, however, truly bulletproof, and it seems to behave well on cheap paper. I can use this to correct papers. Would I buy this again? It's expensive, and I don't need a bulletproof red, even though I like the color. I hate to do this in a review, but I'm going to stay on the fence. Ask me when I use up the bottle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I was Looking for a Christmas Red... ... that was also waterproof to use for the return address on my Christmas cards. Since this is one of the Eternal Series inks, I was hoping the color would be a nice Christmasy red. Yes. It is just wht Santa was looking for! In addition, I find myself using it at work to highlight words and phrases in co-workers' documents that need to be touched up before going to customers. This color stands out nicely and works exceedingly well for that task. For someone looking for a nice Eternal Red, I don't think you could do any better than this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Red I wanted I got this ink to provide an alternative for my Noodler's Black which is in most of my inked pens. It is expensive, but I won't use it as often as I use the black. It is nice and wet in my TWSBI F nib, but bleeds through more than Noodler's Black does. Fine in Rhodia, Clairfontaine Triomphe, quality 20 pound and greater papers (including copy paper). Bleeds through cheap notebook paper and bleeds through a little in my Midori Travelers notebook paper. Noodler's black does not bleed through any of these. I do like it for its color and bulletproof properties. It writes a slightly wider line than does Noodler's black in my F nib, but still acceptable. I think this is the only bulletproof red you can get from Goulet Pens. I like this ink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good ink for grading I like this ink for grading exams and quizzes at a University. One Student asked what the ink was as he had never seen an ink that red before. I answered " The blood of the last student that cheated in my class".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I picked up this ink to use for marking up drawings at work. These will need to remain legible for a number of years, as there is a requirement for certain applications to maintain full records for up to ten years, and the markings need to stay bright and legible. That's why I chose it, but I'll be re-buying more when the first bottle runs out for its lovely red, with just a slight hint of brown. Really an awesome colour, not eye-popping red, but a very RED red that is extremely well-behaved. Not a lot of feathering, only moderate bleed on even cheap copier paper. Good stuff!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dries to a nice surprise Using an eyedropper converted platinum preppy, I found that the ink went on the HP Premium LP 32lb paper a little orange for my liking. After it fully dried, it maintains a little bit of that orange leaning, but definitely shows red. I see very subtle shading and where it lightens up, you still see a bit of that orange-red. Not my favorite red to date, but it stands out in a way that a more typical red would. That and the fact that it is an eternal ink means that it will be an "always loaded" ink for a preppie so I have a "go to" red pen for markups or red writing that needs to stand the test of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Water Resistance Out of the Noodler's water resistant inks I've tried, Fox is hands-down the best. I have tested the ink on several papers that I have completely submerged and agitated, and there is no noticeable bleeding with only a slight washing out of the color. Longer exposure to water does not seem to exacerbate the color loss. Setting aside the water resistance, the ink has a very nice, bold color and does not feather much on good or cheap paper. As with many Noodler's inks, there is quite a bit of nib creep. The creep is particularly noticeable due to the vibrancy of the ink. You can actually see the red ink in the comb of the feed. So, aside from the nib and feed looking like you've recently stabbed a cartoon character with your pen, this ink is amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, waterproof, bright red. I've tried a few different reds in the search for a perfect red. I prefer the darker J. Herbin 1670 Rough Hematite or Noodler's Antietam, but Noodler's Fox Red is a very bright red that is a tad oranger than fresh blood. Using a M Lamy Safari, it's a nice, well-behaved red that doesn't bleed on paper (as long as it isn't cheap copy paper) and has a very small amount of shading. It also dries relatively quickly which is nice. Not the shade that I was looking for, but a lasting, dependable ink for people who are using it to grade papers, or those who like an orangey, blood-red color.
