Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the color love the color and the ink so far has been very well behaved. ?I like the brown ink" was my wife?s comment as I was writing notes and working on office routine. Now she borrows it to write notes to her friends. Fountain pens open the creative to more color in the world and this color is one you can use professionally and still have some fun. Shading is good, ghosting on notebook paper is not bad, and pens clean up very easily when changing inks. An excellent reddish brown color predominantly but use in different nibs and the color shifts, part of the joys of being distinctive in the use of a true fountain pen and choosing your inks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really awesome looking This is a very fun ink to write with. Through a fine nib, it just writes as a vary dark almost black-brown, but put it in a flex pen, or wide italic, and it really comes alive. It goes from a dark chocolate brown, to a brilliant autumnal orange, with a slight metallic tone. It even has a bit of a sheen that sits on top, similar to inks like the J.Herbin 1670. When you lay down a large patch of ink, either drawing or through a flex pen with, it will sometimes have a cool metallic outline. I keep this ink in a Pima Tortoise Ahab and a Wing-Sung 590 with a broad nib, and absolutely love writing with both because of the ink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terra Cotta Orange/Red/Brown Like the title says, this ink has a lovely terra cotta orange/red/brown color. In natural light, it has the color of a clay flower pot. The ink has excellent shading from a lighter orange to a darker reddish orange when used in a pen with a wetter flow. This ink is similar to Diamine's Oxblood, but tends to the red-orange end of the spectrum rather than the red-brown of the Oxblood. Diamine inks are well behaved across the board and this one is no exception with great flow, lubrication, saturation, and shading. I highly recommend this ink to anyone looking for an understated orange-red shade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Diamine Ancient Copper Ink I've been waiting for this ink to come available for a while, and I loved the feature that Goulet has that meant I got an email when it was back in stock. I ordered it right away, and (as usual) it was shipped pretty much immediately. The ink itself is wonderful. It's exactly the color that I was looking for (I had previously tried Private Reserve's Copper Burst, and while it was a lovely ink, it didn't have the reddish color I was looking for in my copper). I find the shading in this ink to be truly amazing, on top of its lovely color. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality, copper-colored ink.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pretty, but Crusty I bought this ink as a sample. By coincidence, I got an Inkdrop sample of Noodler's Antietam at the same time. Honestly, the Noodler's is almost the same color and the far superior ink. The Diamine has a beautiful color. It has nice shading and a brownish-red color. It's not copper really, but maybe a copper oxide. The trouble is, it is not a very nice ink to work with. It crusts easily in my pen overnight. It's awful for flexing: it railroads in a heartbeat. It just doesn't flow well at all. I won't be buying any more of this ink. But I do recommend the Noodler's Antietam as an alternative.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful colour, great shading Once put in a flex pen - this ink really shines. Thin lines will bring out the lighter colour in this ink - very bright orange, Thicker lines and especially flexy lines will bring out the darker shades - dark orange, nearing red or even red-brown. When the ink dries the colour looks really nice, very reminiscent of rust, but in a really cool way. Flows very well, dry times are a bit longer than I'm used to, but still relatively quick. All in all an amazing ink, and I can understand why so many people love it

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Jason is right. I love the color, but it doesn't play well in my Monteverde Invincia. After about two days of non-use, the nib was gross and crusted. It is very slow to start. I found that I needed to twist the converter to remove any air out of the cartridge each time I use the pen before the ink will flow. In comparison, Noodler's Antietam is wonderful. The color is very close, just a shade lighter, but the ink flow starts immediately. No skipping, no ink blots, just a smooth line. Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's cool!! There isn't any other ink on the market quite like ancient copper. It gives amazing shading and dries with hints of red, brown, and black. The ink has a distinctive copper sheen that really makes your writing come alive. That being said, this is not an everyday ink. Dry time is medium-long and it has a tendency to bleed on cheap paper. Even so, I would highly recommend this ink especially if you write letters.
