A pen like no other February 22, 2013
Reviewer: MH from Longmont, CO
Beautiful blue/crayola periwinkle color, very nice heft.
The extra fine can feels scratchy, especially on anything but smooth paper--with light pressure it is Extremely Fine.  After putting in some practice & getting to know the pen, it's a delight.  It's more work to write with, but it feels like something really special and the variations in line width with pressure makes writing more of an art than a chore.  It's not the pen to scratch out a phone number.  It's a pen to experience,  Consider your juice glass vs. a fine hand-blown bourdeaux glass. . .
I obsess over this pen.  I'll sit and write and write and write till my hand hurts.  Have used Mont Blank black--lovely & old fashioned; J. Herbin Eclat de Saphir-romantic; Diamine Oxblood and Noodlers Black Swans and Australian roses--dramatic.  You'll be inspired to study Spencerian script with this pen.
A very nice splurge!
And GREAT service from Goulet.

gorgeous colour February 1, 2013
Reviewer: Janis Jessop from Whitehorse, YT Canada
The red is lovely...the extra-fine is very fine...a bit scratchy...but you can get alot of variation with some pressure.
Like another reviewer stated...it has a preference for going either left to right or right to left...forget ...but they are not the same both ways...If you like to draw...hair-line widths are available with this pen...rather rare find, as most widths never come close to being this fine.

Semi-Flex Goodness January 22, 2013
Reviewer: Bradley from San Diego, CA, United States
I originally purchased the pen with the hopes that it'd be a professional-looking fountain pen with smooth flow and some flex capabilities. Though it's less of a flex pen and more of a semi-flex, it's a gorgeous pen nonetheless! The combination of the semi-flex and the fine line of the extra-fine nib makes for very fluid line variation, although subtle. Though a bit pricey, this has easily replaced my Lamy Safari as my go-to pen for everyday writing!

A Fine Pen in Every Respect January 18, 2013
Reviewer: Patrick from Brighton, Sussex United Kingdom
A beautiful quality writing instrument. Wash it thoroughly in detergent before use to obtain the best ink flow. Those used to copperplate dip pen work will soon find that the subtle line variation required is achievable, I found that I had to adjust my normal writing position and paper angle slightly to achieve this. This pen needs a delicate touch as it is really fine like a steel pointed pen but without the the same amount of flex. You can't take liberties with it; those used to broader nibs will find it scratchy and possibly unmanageable as the tines will rasp together if too much pressure is applied in anything other then the "down" stroke and the nib point will definitely "dig in" if pushed upward against the tines. As is usual, the type of ink and paper in use will have a great bearing on the results obtained. I like to use laid paper because it has a hard textured surface which doesn't suck the ink out of the nib so you get very feint hairlines and gives me the feed back I love.

gift well received! December 28, 2012
Reviewer: paul from Longmont, CO United States
My wife has been very pleased with this pen. She especially likes the nib flex for the control over line widths and really likes the final ink shading results.  Very fast shipping and excellent customer service.  Thanks!
