Good With Vac Fillers May 11, 2013
Reviewer: Jason Waskiewicz from North Dakota
I love Noodler's Black, but it didn't work well with my vacuum filler pens, like my Pilot 823. It was too viscous and the bubbles wouldn't float up through it from the feed. I wanted a better-flowing ink that retained the same properties.

Heart of Darkness suited my needs perfectly. It is waterproof and really black, just like the regular black. The differences I see are that it is quicker drying and a bit less viscous. It lets the bubbles float up from the feed. I have the properties I want in an ink with my vac fillers.

Yes! It's BLACK and it dries FAST. May 7, 2013
Reviewer: Eric from Mesa, Arizona
Finally!  A deep, rich, black ink that also dries fast on good paper (Clairefontaine and Rhodia) and cheap paper.  It's not quite as black as regular bulletproof, but very close.

What makes me so happy is how fast it dries compared to bulletproof black (BP). On Clairefontaine paper,  BP sometimes takes several minutes to dry. It's a tad inconvenient when writing in my journal. But this Heart of Darkness is a dream. It dries in 10-15 seconds with my fairly wet, Goulet medium nib. A few seconds longer if the ink has pooled. On cheap paper it dries almost instantly, although it does bleed through more than BP.

Bottom line - I am extremely happy with Heart of Darkness and it will now be my primary journaling ink.  Good thing too since 4.5 ounces is a LOT of ink!

An Excellent Black May 5, 2013
Reviewer: G. J. JENSEN from IDAHO FALLS, ID United States
I use this ink nearly as much as the standard "Bulletproof Black".
Performance is nearly equivalent with no feathering/bleeding on most paper grades [including 100% cotton].
Although there's no real 'feathering', it does lay down a [very] slightly wider line than the 'standard' Noodler's Black.

Better pen than I expected May 2, 2013
Reviewer: Therese Xech from Calera, AL United States
The ink is amazing, so black yet fluid.(not too thick) I was surprised that the pen is so nice. When I see a plastic, see-through pen, I don't feel as drawn to it as others are to "demonstrators". But I love this little pen! Even the fine point which I find writes neatly and the ink doesn't skip.

good stuff April 18, 2013
Reviewer: jeff gates from jacksonville, FL United States
tested it for waterproof ability (after 24 hours dry time) against carbon black and I honestly saw only the very slightest difference between the two.  If you plan on using this for watercolors and washes, you'll be saving a ton of money compared to a bottle of carbon black.  I paid $25.00 for a bottle 1/4 of the size with no eyedropper or free pen.  If your going to be using this in your EDC or desk pen you can't go wrong for this price, this is a very large bottle of ink!
