The Nib Creaper (also known as the "Standard Flex Pen") was the first fountain pen produced by Noodler's, introduced in 2010, and is Noodler's smallest and slimmest fountain pen. It features a steel flexible #2 nib and a twist piston mechanism. A small ink window shows how much ink is left in your pen. These pens are made from a celluloid derivative.

The Noodler's flex pens were designed for the hands-on tinkerer - they are made to be taken apart and adjusted. The nib and feed pull right out and can be adjusted for optimal performance. Don't be afraid to get a little ink on your fingers while you learn how to use this pen.

As a simple rule of thumb for writing with a flex pen, just apply slight pressure on your downstrokes, which will spread the tines and increase the line width, achieving that optimal line variation. Make sure to go slowly so that the ink can keep up with your writing. As with any flex pen, it just takes practice!

Due to the residual machining oils used when cutting the feeds for these pens, we highly encourage you to give the pen a good flush before use. We recommend any of the following options: distilled water, water with a touch of dish soap, a pre-packaged pen flush, or a solution of 10% clear ammonia to water. This should resolve most ink flow issues!

The Pen is good. October 3, 2014
Reviewer: J. Grey
Not sure what to say aside from the product is well-known for me and I ordered it because I am familiar with it.

It arrived in far more packing than one might expect for the low price, along with multiple expressions of appreciation from the Goulet Company and its sender.

The Clear Demonstrator itself lends a unique look to a fountain pen by being completely transparent with the exception of the clip, neck; and the nib and feed of course.

This also leads to the most obvious advantage of knowing how much ink you have in the pen at all times, rather than the windows of the normal, obscure colors; which is every other one so far as I know.

The Creaper itself is also the easiest flex out of the models of Noodler's that I have tried. The Ahab is the only other I have yet to try, and look forward to others in the future.

The Creaper is a wonderful pen in both regards to it's size and price, and given the flex pen status it can easily add flair to even the best handwriting.

Double duty pen... September 4, 2014
Reviewer: Shanon from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
After buying the Ahab for my first flex pen, and being surprised at how big the Ahab is, I decided to try the Nib Creaper... and I couldn't be happier... the smaller pen is more comfortable in my small hand, and the smaller nib gives me greater control over line variation in the flex...

My favourite part is that I not only use it for flex writing, but it also works great as a regular writer... it gives your inkflow a unique character even when not flexing the nib...

The one thing I did notice is some brassing has developed on the metal neck cuff near the nib... not sure why...

Who could complain for this price? August 27, 2014
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Sydney, Australia
So far a great pen.  It writes surprisingly well and I like that it's adjustable.  I can easily adapt it to the ink and paper combination.

Still getting the hang of unitising the flex.

Very Light and Comfortable August 4, 2014
Reviewer: Wendy Scott from Minden, ON Canada
I love the slender barrel and very light weight feel in my hand. The pen writes from very fine to medium, depending on pressure. I have Noodler's Liberty's Elysium blue ink, which flows well.

I am still learning since this is the first flex nib I have used, but I am pleasantly surprised. The nib writes smoothly; with a light touch, it is ultra fine and does not tire my hand when writing for long periods.
