Love it but... May 11, 2012
Reviewer: Victoria from Canada
This is a fantastic ink for the Noodler's flex nib, but I wish it was more red than burgundy/brown. Dries fairly slow as well, prone to smudging.

Great Ink, inconsistent color May 8, 2012
Reviewer: Louie Ramos from San Francisco, CA United States
I picked up BSIER after having good experiences with Noodler's before and seeing all the positive remarks about it.

It is a fun ink, and the color I got is gorgeous, but I do not think it is particularly well represented by the swab on the site. I am willing to chalk this up to the individual variations that are an understood aspect of Noodler's though. The color I got was absolutely a highly shading burgundy without a hint of the brown seen on the swab.

For reference I was writing with a noodler's Ahab and a Sailor 1911 with a fine nib. The papers I used were cheap notepad paper given away at a vendor show, 3x5 cards that you get at office supply stores, leuchtturm dot notebook paper, and an Apica CD15 notebook. I had no issues with skipping or hard starts and the color was much brighter with the fine nib than the flex.

Very nice May 8, 2012
Reviewer: Thomas G. from Beaverton, OR United States
I have yet to notice the pink "halo effect" even on the cheapest paper.... but a nice tone non the less, and will use regularly when I am tired of standard colors, as the brown is a nice color.

Great shading ink, beautiful colour March 23, 2012
Reviewer: Graham Rowberry from Worcestershire, United Kingdom
This ink does what it says on the tin. The shading is superb with the right nib, from a deep, deep blood red to a nice bright one. Love it.

It is a rich pleasant brown March 20, 2012
Reviewer: Vern Padgett from Whittier, CA United States
I'm really enjoying this ink, and I was writing with it moments ago, using a Noodler's Ahab.

I'm getting used to not smearing the ink; it does not dry instantly, or almost so, like my Schaeffer Skrip and Lamy blue.  Be aware that it is wet for a few seconds!

Don’t miss Nathan Tardif’s YouTube videos on his inks and his pens.

I refilled the pen in a few seconds with no fuss, and continued writing.  Filling that reservoir did not even dent the level in the neck of that 3 ounce bottle; they say the flex pens use a lot of ink, but at this rate the 3 oz will last forever.
