Noodler's Baystate Blue - 4.5oz Bottled Ink with Free Charlie Pen
The Noodler's Baystate inks are slightly different formulas than conventional fountain pen inks. They are designed to be more vibrant than other inks and have a slightly basic pH-level, and as a result they are prone to staining and should not be mixed with other non-Baystate inks. If staining should occur, a solution of 10% household bleach and 90% distilled water should help. If you have any particularly rare or valuable pens, you may want to avoid using Baystate inks in them.

Love it. Just wish I could use it more.
This blue ink is an absolute must for blue lovers out there. It is quite dangerous as some people say, it can stain easily but depending on a surface a quick wipe with rubbing alcohol or bleach will prevent staining. Otherwise it's a great ink, juicy blue color, dries at an okay speed with finer nibs, but medium up will take some time. I would recommend using a blotting paper to prevent staining other pages.
The free pen made this purchase a no-brainer. Given some of the stain concerns I’ve seen surrounding this brilliant blue ink, the addition of the Charlie pen allowed me to give it a test run without risking any of my regular pens.
I have been shocked that it feathered some on 68gsm Tomoe River (new). There was less feathering on Cosmo Air Cloud, but minor feathering was visible on some letters. These papers handle all kinds of ink well, so I was surprised. I’m curious if the same would be true in a pen other than the Charlie, but I haven’t risked one of my TWSBIs yet. I know a bleach solution will get the pen clean, but I’m not excited for that process.
The color is beautiful. The pen is free. The overall experience is excellent. If there weren’t feathering or concerns over pen stains, I’d give it five stars.
The brightness of that blue is so beautiful. Amazing ink. Absolutely worth the inky fingers for a few days.
Love this ink! I've had the big bottle well over a year now, and still have 3/4 the bottle with daily use!! It does great in most my fountain pens, even after sitting for awhile. Super vibrant blue!
