OK, I was wrong March 12, 2013
Reviewer: Jon Hines from Blythewood, SC United States
I have a previous review for this pen wherein I state that it just wouldn't write well for me (I can't "edit" it because I guess I wasn't logged in when I wrote it).

I have purchased a stub nib for the pen (thinking that my original medium might've been the source of the problem) and another bottle of ink (De'Atramentis Sherlock Holmes) and, ta da, it writes great.  I am finally happy with this pen!  Patience was the key for me on this one, I guess.  I have raised it to four stars because I am reserving five for the Holy Grail (of which I am "in quest of").

Bad luck, maybe? February 4, 2013
Reviewer: Jon Hines from Columbia, SC
This is the first fountain pen that I ever bought (two years ago, maybe).  I wanted so desperately to like it and fountain pens, in general.  Since I bought this, I have had very few truly positive writing experiences.  It has always been a slow starter and easily/often skips.  It could be that I always pick a bad combination of ink and paper - maybe?  It came with a medium nib that I have replaced with a 1.1mm stub thinking that there might be an issue there - still can be slow starting, still doesn't like several of the papers I have around here.  I want to reach for this pen but seem to always end up with my disposable Pilot Varsity - bummer.

It is built very well, feels substantial, and looks very nice, though.

Monteverde Invincia Fountain Pen - Titanium 1.1 January 28, 2013
Reviewer: Michael from Lansing, Kansas
This pen is just a fantastic value! It's performance exceeds the few Stipulas (a Ventidue & a Vedo) that I have at twice the price and approaches my Aurora Optimas. I prefer pens bottle fill pens and dedicated ones at that. This is a converter fill pen and thus suffers from a smaller reservoir.
The nib is fine out of the box. A 1.1mm stub, rather than a true italic, but enough shade to be convincing if you have the hand for it.
This is a sturdy pen that is up for adventure, where other pens may prefer to stay at home by the fire. In the spirit of Lamy Safari, but more substantial. The carbon fiber look is fashion forward.

Invincia - Stub December 26, 2012
Reviewer: James Keckley from Carl Junction, MO United States
I received this pen with a stub nib as a gift.

Immediately, I was struck by the appearance. It truly does look amazing!

The construction is top-notch, and it has a good weight. It's not uncomfortable to hold, but it's substantial. I'm never going to post it because the cap is heavy.

The nib came with misaligned tines. It was an easy fix, and now it writes beautifully. The flow is more generous than the Lamy stubs, as Brian mentioned in one of his videos. It's not a gusher; it's perfect. Don't buy it if you're afraid of aligning tines! But if you do align the tines, you'll get a pen that writes, looks, and feels amazing.

Beautifully Machined Work of Art December 25, 2012
Reviewer: Kent Fletcher from Milton, GA United States
Every detail about this pen is refined.  The chrome threading of body to the nib, the chrome threading of the cap to nib is flawless.  Nice weight to it.  I'm using the 1.1 mm italic nib creates a nice effect on style.
