Limited edition 50ml bottle of Rouge Hematite (scarlet) ink, released in 2010 in celebration of J. Herbin's 340th anniversary. Rouge translates to red, and Hematite is an iron ore that when pulverized into a powder, can be used as red pigment. With a dark red color and earthy tone, it is a reminder of the historic color of the Herbin logo and the sealing wax used by the members of the royal courts. This rich deep dye ink will bring brightness and majesty to all your writing.

This is the best ink I've ever used July 23, 2014
Reviewer: Parker Boy from California
It is smooth, flows well and a joy to use. I have it in a Parker 51 with a wet medium/broad nib and love the combination. I use it every time I have extensive writing to do, and notice the reduced fatigue compared to other pens.

the new Rouge Hematite is lovely ink! July 9, 2014
Reviewer: Lynn T from Columbia, SC United States
I couldn't resist getting the new reformulated Route Hematite 1670 and I'm glad I did! It is lovely on the page with gold shading clearly visible against the wonderful, and also shading, underlying red. I've used it in a Noodler Konrad on Rhodia and on Tomeo River, with great success! There has been no feathering or bleed-through. It does take a little while to dry, but then I don't suppose anyone is planning to use this ink for class notes so that can be accomodated. After about a week of use there has been no clogging of the pen, athough there is definite nib creep. This is a small price to pay.

Amazing and beautiful June 25, 2014
Reviewer: Nancy Revelle from Arroyo Grande, CA United States
This is one of my all time favorite inks.  I love the color and amazing sheen.  It flows fairly well; this bottle was not the latest formula that caused less clogging and had more gold sheen though.  I would have liked to tried the new one.

Beautiful May 23, 2014
Reviewer: Jerrick from UT United States
This is a very beautiful ink. The one downside is it doesn't behave too well in all nibs but that was expected.

Some expectations April 30, 2014
Reviewer: Maciej from Middle Village, NY
From the swatch test in the picture it looks as if more burnt ocre than crimson but when  you write with it (or at least when I did through my jinhao with Goulet nib) it is a deep archival red. I can't deny its a very beautiful color that shines and glistens when wet and dries to a matte red. I love it!
