At a Loss of Words... Well, only partially |

Allow me to put it bluntly.
I have never experienced extremely pleasurable (to the extent of giddy laughter) writing... until I used this ink. I cannot say enough about it. At least I try to, but I end up stumbling with my words because of how amazing it is.
I was tentative at first on using it because it's so pretty in its bottle, but after deep cleaning my favorite pen (Pelikan M215 Demonstrator), I filled it.
This ink is a total dream. It has truly set the bar for me. It goes well on any paper -- Tops Docket Gold, Moleskine, printer paper, Rhodia Webbie, etc. The flow is magical and just writing with it is inspiring. The color is rich and perfect.
It does gunk up a little on the nib after a period of time. It doesn't effect the flow or anything. They actually warn of this on the box in a way.
If at all possible, buy it. Cherish it. Use it. It won't be regretted!

this color does resemble fresh dawn blood, as stated by others, with some gold tones to it. a nice bright red that is hard to not notice. does not really offer shading but if you can get some of the gold in the lines it makes for an interesting page of notes. so for that despite what some say i suggest some shaking before drawing the ink from the bottle, but to each his own, it is your pen after all. behaves well on college lined paper, offers some slight water proof properties but does tend to smear easily

Let me be just another reviewer to give this delicious ink a 5-star rating! The color is a warm, lustrous red with golden overtones (which appears to be greenish shimmer on close inspection). From a distance the color is exactly that of freshly drawn blood (not that that's my thing, but I must admit fresh blood is an amazing color!). This ink also behaves well in every pen that I've used it in and I've not experienced feathering nor bleedthrough, even on the lower quality paper I use at work. It looks great on white & cream colored papers. It is my go-to red at work and at home. The bottle is simply stunning and it conjures the olden days. I love everything about this ink!

Nice red |

This is a nice flowing ink which seemed to tend towards orange on the paper & cards I wrote this Christmas. In my Rhodia notebook it was actually very similar to Rouge Opera. The gold flecks weren't evident at all until I accidently started to address a red envelope. The ink disappeared on the red paper but faint gold lettering remained, kinda cool but not too useful. Might have been more obvious with a broader nib or in a flex pen? Still a nice ink!
