FAQs and Important Information:

Q. How do I pay for the membership?

A. Payment must be with a credit card through GouletPens.com (i.e. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover). You may also use PayPal, but we do prefer a credit card. Do not use money order, or check options. This is important so that you can be billed properly each month. We'll keep your credit card information on file in a secure manner.

Q. Will my coupons or discounts apply towards my membership?

A. Unfortunately we cannot honor any coupons or discounts off of the membership fee. You will be billed at the full membership price.

Q. When will my credit card be charged, and when do I get my samples?

A. We'll charge you for your first month within 24 hours of signing up. This way you can be granted access to the Ink Drop members only club and start taking advantage of the discounts. Ongoing, your card will be automatically charged on the last business day of the preceding month*, and then we send out the samples that week. You'll receive a confirmation email once your card has been successfully charged.

If you initially sign up during the first two weeks of the month (between the 1st and 14th), you'll receive that month's ink samples. You'll be charged at the time of your original purchase, and then starting the next month on the 1st of each month. (For example, if you sign up on September 7, we'll charge your card within 24 hours and mail you September's ink samples right away. Then on October 1, we'll begin the regular monthly billing cycle and you'll receive October's samples).

If you initially sign up anytime on or after the 15th of the month, you won't receive your ink samples until the next month. We'll still charge your card at the time of your original purchase so that you can start taking advantage of the members only deals, and then we'll skip the charge on the next month. Think of it like getting bonus time for your monthly fee. Starting the month after that, we'll resume the regular monthly billing cycle. (For example, if you sign up on September 23, we'll charge your card within 24 hours, and then in October you'll receive October's samples but won't be charged again. The next time your card will be charged is November 1, and the regular monthly cycle will resume). Bottom line: don't worry, we won't double-charge you!

*One caveat: if you are selecting PayPal as your method of payment, you'll be automatically billed every 30 days from the date of your purchase. So if you purchase on September 23, you'll be charged again on October 23, November 23, etc. But if you choose a credit card, you'll be billed on the first of the month starting after the first month (i.e. September 23, November 1, December 1, etc). Regardless of your method of payment, your samples will be sent out on the first of the month though.

Q. Who can sign up?

A. Anyone! We'll ship to all countries. The $10 monthly fee is applied to anyone within the U.S. and its territories. The $15 monthly fee is applied to anyone in any other country.

Q. Is shipping included? How long does it take?

A. Yep, shipping is included in your monthly membership fee. We'll send everything out via USPS first-class mail, so it should arrive to you within a few days (or up to a week or two if international). Please keep your mailing address and phone number on file with us up-to-date.

Q. Is there a long-term commitment, or can I opt out or cancel?

A. You can cancel your membership at any time, no charge. Just fill out the form in the Ink Drop, and we'll cancel your account. We'll still give you all the benefits through the end of the month of which you have paid. Just let us know before the 1st of the next month so that we don't automatically charge your card!

Q. How do I access the extra features?

A. As long as you have paid your fees, you just need to be logged in to GouletPens.com to access the Ink Drop. We'll give you access to the Ink Drop and all the extra perks within 24 hours of signing up. You can find all the discounted full bottles of ink and other specially priced items at the Ink Drop.

Q. Can I choose or swap out the ink sample colors?

A. No, the ink sample packages will be mailed as is, no substitutions. It would be a logistical nightmare for us to make substitutions. If you don't like or already have the color, you can always give it to a friend or exchange it with another inkophile. The Fountain Pen Network may be a good place to find people willing to trade!

Q. What happens if I purchase more than one membership?

A. You can purchase as many memberships as you'd like, though we're only going to be sending out 5 colors each month. Purchasing multiple memberships means you will be getting multiple samples of the same 5 colors. If you'd like to purchase additional memberships to send to different addresses, you'll need to place separate orders. We can only mail to one address per order.

Q. If I'm placing another order through GouletPens.com, can I combine it with my samples to save on shipping?

A. No. We prepare and ship Ink Drop as a big batch process, and the logistics of trying to combine orders are too overwhelming for us.
