It took a week or two to really break this pen in, but now that it is it it the best pen I have ever used. The line variation is great, and is perfect for adding a personal flair to your writing. Every ink I have put in it (Noodler's Black, Noodler's Polar Black, Sheaffer Skrip, Organics Studio Carbon, and even Noodler's Baystate Blue) have worked perfectly! Definitely get this pen.

More prestige than writer?

I was hesitant about plunking down the kind of money that this pen commanded. I really wanted a semi-flex pen and maybe should have gone with the resin Namiki Falcon, but I really like the heft of a solidly built metal body.
My choice was the Sapphire in a soft-fine nib. Now to me, this is a beautiful pen. It is more of a muted or even a greyish baby blue with chrome or nickel hardware. It has a secure screw on cap. It is definitely a joy to hold. The reason for only four stars (I was contemplating three) is the manner in which it writes. I am a devoted fan of smooth as glass writers and that is where this presents a quandary. There is too much feedback from the pen. No matter what quality of paper I have tried this on, it comes down to almost always feeling scratchy. Brian suggested that one should write with a light hand, but then how can you extract the flex qualities the pen is suppose to have. In short I am a bit remorseful in buying the pen and suggest: try before you buy.
