some bleed through but not too bad August 4, 2014
Reviewer: Gordon Hall from Old Bridge, NJ United States
Keep in mind  that I am new to this. So far, I have notebooks from clairefontaine, Leuchtturm, Piccadilly, Markings (CR. Gibson). This Claiefontaine Basic doesn't have the thickest pages but certainly adeqnet and has the best sheen.  the Lenchtturm books is not very thick, and have some bleed through with TWSBI 580 Med and Noodler's Bernanke Blue.  I would try other Brands later.  A drier pen/ink combination is needed for this notebook.

Cornelius would be proud. April 23, 2014

The cover nice shade of cornflower blue. The Leuchtturm paper is not the best, but it is very good. I do not get much for bleed through. I do get some feathering though. The build quality of their notebooks is unsurpassed. They also have some pleasant details other brands just do not have. Like the page numbers, an index, among some other serendipitous features that just make them stand out. Did I mention that they come in cornflower blue?

Well put-together August 30, 2013
Reviewer: dkr from La Serena, Chile
I really enjoy the thought and attention to detail that go into this notebook.  All the little things are taken care of.  The page numbering and table of contents, the elastic band holding it shut, the pocket, the included stickers, the fact that the ruling is not so dark as to be obtrusive, etc..  I like it better than my Rhodia webnotebook, even though the paper in that is a bit nicer.  In fact, my only wish is that the paper in the large notebook was a bit heavier.  It generally performs well, but can show some feathering with my wet italic.  Not a dealbreaker at all for me.

Why use Moleskine? July 3, 2013
Reviewer: Jonathan Hines from Blythewood, SC United States
When you can use a Leuchtturm1917 and pay less for it? I think that Brian's videos pretty much cover the qualities of this notebook. Personally, I have found my Monteverde Invincia 1.1mm stub to bleed through the page more than what the video shows (but that could be the Noodler's Black vs DeAtramentis Sherlock Holmes characteristics); however, Liberty's Elysium in a Lamy Al-Star medium performs about the same as shown.

In any case, using pencil, ball-point, and fine/medium fountain pens should show reasonable results in this reasonably priced notebook. For what it is worth, though, I have had better results with fountain pens using a Black 'n' Red of the same size....

Excellent Notebooks, exceptional service April 12, 2013
Reviewer: Alexis Leon from Cochin, Kerala India
I have used Leuchtturm1917 Large Notebooks with Black cover. It is as Brian mentioned in a review better than Moleskine but not as good as Quo Vadis Habana. I bought the colored books so that I can have different notebooks for different topics. The books are a bargain (especially at a 10% discount) as the quality is good and you can write with even fountain pens without any problem if you don't use very wet inks and broad nibs. Definitely a product worth the price. And Goulet Pen Company is a company which is a paragon of quality, customer service, customer education and excellence.
