A bright brown July 27, 2011

Thus the name Fire Earth, or Red Earth perhaps as loosely translated from the French.  It's a happier brown than many.  J. Herbin is a favorite ink "designer" of mine.

nice and earthy May 9, 2011

This is a lovely, earthy red. It's close to a red oxide color.  I use my inks with a bamboo dip pen for sketching. I like to use this color in sketches along with the J. Herbin Vert Empire. As others have said, this ink flows beautifully.

Inkiness February 10, 2011
Reviewer: Ilana Bjorlie from Shepherdstown, WV United States
The ink itself is a pleasure to write with. It flows well and dries fairly quickly with a little bit of shading. It gets along perfectly with the Platinum Preppy's fine nib.
This is just a personal quirk, but the color isn't quite as red as I was hoping. Still, it's a lovely ink to write with. =^.^=

Terre de Feu February 8, 2011
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from St. Paul, MN United States
This is one of my favorite inks. It's similar to Cafe des Iles, but with a subtle deep, earthy red that makes it more interesting and alive, but without being garrish like a true red ink.

Awesome except for one thing... December 11, 2010
Reviewer: Kenneth Kellogg from Honolulu, HI United States
Aloha and Mele Kalikimaka!

I love the inks that I purchased, and was excited about the discount and Rhodia pad that arrived. However, the Terre de Feu leaked a little, because, I think there were too many inks in the USPS flat mailer. Otherwise, I couldn't be happier. (And as far as the leakage, it was just a little bit that basically stained part of the box. There was the slightest schmeer of ink on the top of the bottle, and I wouldn't have known about it, except that when I opened the bottle to make sure it was full, a tiny, tiny amount of ink made it to my finger.)
