  De Atramentis Ocher Yellow (35ml)
De Atramentis Ocher Yellow (35ml)

If you're looking for a rich and warm earth tone, De Atramentis Ocher Yellow fits the bill. The hue feels more orange to us than the name might suggest, but the strong shading gives this ink an organic mineral-like feel. Like all De Atramentis inks, Ocher Yellow is handmade in Germany by Dr. Franz-Josef Jansen. It offers a generous flow, which is ideal for flex and extra fine nibs.

Lovely and individual ink February 26, 2014
Reviewer: Graham B. Solana from Beautiful Savannah, GA United States
I recommend getting a sample to experience this ink and understand its performance.  It gives a bit of a roller coaster ride in a Pilot Metro, but in a good way and has a controlled generosity in a Lamy Safari with an EF nib.
This ink pairs well with G. Lalo champagne stationery as the tone harmonizes with the paper color and the envelope's tissue liner, as well as, taking on an archival sepia nature in that setting.

Not the color I was expecting February 15, 2014
Reviewer: Matt from Renton, WA United States
I'm usually a big fan of DA inks, but this ink just didn't provide the color I was expecting.  I was looking for a richer butterscotch color with a hint of orange (which is how the sample appears on my monitor). Instead what I got was an ink that looks more like cantaloupe orange with just a hint of brown. If was far paler than I was expecting, and I found it too light to read comfortably.  It flowed quite well (which is common for DA inks), and dried relatively quickly despite the flow, but the color just wasn't what I was looking for.

Beautiful Color, But . . . January 12, 2014
Reviewer: Lori from Vermont
Great color, lovely shading, easy to read but feathered and bled through on every paper I used it on (except Clairefontaine).  Too bad.

Another DA Success November 9, 2013
Reviewer: Tracy Belford from Merritt Island, FL United States
I have a strong bias for DA inks. They have performed well in my pens, flush easily from the pens when cleaning, and the flow is very consistent from pen to pen. The Ocher Yellow is no exception. I love how it dries to a color akin to a baked pumpkin pie. It is a more golden alternative to most standard browns, and is not too light on a page to make reading awkward. It has a particularly nice appearance on cream colored or light pink paper.

The color is terrific, and deep enough to be interesting, with a hint of orange and brown.
